Gala beat Besiktas this weekend, but they are still trailing Fenerbahce. I think Chelsea's biggest problem will be dealing with the travel.

CFC and MUFC should both win their ties comfortably.

Hazard hasn't been on form since our League game, but I'm sure he'll turn it on for this game.
Except that hattrick against Newcastle?

Hazard isn't off form. It's the fact that the rest of our attackers are out of form so teams can double or triple mark him.

Re: Mancini Thread

Fernebache are cracking up? They were lucky to get a point tonight. Bobby's mob are hunting them down! Only matter of time me thinks before Bob's team rise to the top.

Re: Mancini Thread

So, current state of affairs then over in Super Lig:

Huge win for Bob versus Besiktas. However although Fenerbahce drew 1-1 against 15th placed Elazigspor - it was still a big, big result for them. Fenerbahce had Cristian Baroni sent off in the 58th minute but still managed to equalise in the 83rd minute.

In the battle for 4th spot, Kasimpasa absolutely humped Sivasspor, however Sivasspor remain 4th.

22/02….Galatasaray (3)……..1-0……..Besiktas (2)
22/02….Kasimpasa (8)……….6-2……..Sivasspor (4)
24/02….Elazigspor (15)………1-1……..Fenerbahce (1)

Table:

1)…Fenerbahce…..21…..15…..3…..4…..48…..+23
2)…Galatasaray…..21…..12…..8…..2…..44…..+21
3)…Besiktas………..21…..12…..6…..4…..42…..+17
4)…Sivasspor……...21…..11…..3…..8…..36…..+ 6

Next matches:

28/02….Besiktas (3)…………...vs……..Antalayaspor (14)
01/03….Fenerbahce (1)……...vs……..Genclerbirligi (13)
02/03….Sivasspor (4)………...vs………Elazigspor (15)
02/03….Rizespor (16)………...vs……..Galatasaray (2)

He scored a hat trick the next game.

Re: Mancini Thread

Read in paper that if Fenerbache win league 2nd place team automatically goes into CL group stage as Fenerbache serving European ban.

Looking good for Gala next season.

Roberto Mancini: Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho won Champions League at Inter Milan with MY team

Roberto Mancini has taken a swipe at Jose Mourinho insisting the Portuguese coach won the Champions League at Inter Milan with HIS team.

Chelsea boss Mourinho took over from Mancini at the San Siro in 2008, despite the Italian having won three straight Serie A titles with the Nerazzurri.

And within two years later Mourinho had secured the club’s third European title with a 2-0 victory over Bayern Munich before departing for a spell at Real Madrid.

Mancini is now boss of Galatasaray and goes head-to-head with his old sparring partner Mourinho in the Wednesday’s Champions League last-16 tie in Turkey.

And in an interview with the Evening Standard, former Manchester City gaffer Mancini said: ‘Mourinho won the Champions League because he took a good team. He took a team that, like Manchester City, I had built.

‘A team that had a strong mentality. When I went to Inter, they played very bad football and we changed this.

‘To win a Champions League you should be lucky.

‘Champions League is a difficult competition but a strange one. Strange because you can win your group in October, November, December and, after maybe February [in the knock-out stages], everything can change.’

Mancini also tried to heap pressure on Chelsea ahead of Wednesday’s tie, insisting his side don’t have a hope of winning.

‘We don’t have a lot of chance even at home because Chelsea are better, one of the best teams in Europe,’ Mancini said.

‘For Galatasaray to just play Chelsea is an important moment and we need to do a good job.’
