First impressions are usually not too far wrong. I would say no improvement on Mancini at all. Still the same disinterested players taking the proverbial and putting in no shift at all. Players who should have been sold so as we wouldn't be tempted to play them again = Kolorov, Garcia, Nasri. Players who need a rocket up their arse= Yaya,Kun,Dzeko, clichy,Hart. Now sort that out Mr Count and we might be in business.

I'm half sorry I started this thread as the BlueMoon do-gooders try and stop anyone having an opinion that isn't in line with the "PC" view.

It was never an anti Pellegrini thread. More about the subtle differences between tactics, formations etc. Mancini had his faults ...... but for me early signs are MP has made a few mistakes too. Needless to say its only 3 games in ..... but with 2 tough games on the horizon we'll know a lot more in a couple of weeks. Got to be honest - I am a little concerned based on last 2 performances but hope they are mis-placed,

Ps ....agree with post above

City needed refreshment, since Manchini started hitting the wall. At this moment, in situation as it is, Pelle is deffinetly better choice.

Why bring Rafa into this?

People just need to move on and let the new manager do his job and make comparisons when it is fair to do so.

And when, pray tell, will the time be right to make comparisons?

Obviously after 3 games.
Obviously to soon to tell I'll wait and watch

It doesn't matter.

Mancini was great for City when he came here and brought us more success than most of us had seen or could dream of.

But life moves on, moreso in football than in most things an RM is no longer here. Pellegrini is our manager.

The King is dead. Long live the King!

Just wondering if there were any Hughes v Mancini threads three games into Mancini's management?

My views on RM and MP .......

Mancini was absolutely fantastic for city. If anything we were guilty of being too predictable at times. Our build up was too slow - at the cup final it was clear to see he had lost some of the players. The one thing we did have was a very strong base. In his tenure as manager I felt our defending was exceptional with our goals against record very healthy. And let's not forget the fortress that eastlands became.

Pellegrini has only just started. Like everyone else we all hope he goes on to become even more successful than RM. what has surprised me is our defending and shape on occasions. Even last year we missed Kompany, any team would miss him and not replacing kolo so far isn't ideal. But the bigger worry for me is the formation. It looks like a 4-2-4 to me and the midfield is being over-run. In recent seasons the pundits have talked about city's physical strength in midfield. I'm not seeing that at the moment. It's possibly down to the absence of Barry. Personally find the treatment of him a bitter pill to swallow. Also thought it was a questionable call to put Garcia on the bench ahead of Rodwell today. I think he has a bright future and deserves a place on the bench.

Like I said its early days - but early signs we have lots of work to do.

How the hell can anyone make comparisons. Mancini had 3 years here and Pellegrini has only just walked through the door.
FFS totally unfair.

They were about three games old by then.

I've not seen a big difference in performances between this year and last but its early days yet.

Comparisons at this stage are pointless.

For the record, as a real ale drinker I fucking hate Fosters, but the adverts are decent and apt for this particular post.
