Far too early to make comparisons but i hope Pellegrini follows Mancini in never playing Lescott and Nasty together again.

Wasn't exactly overloaded with centre half options was he?

Or would you have preferred to see Garcia return to the back 4?

I don't know what pressure he is under from those upstairs, but I would have thought it should be pretty simple to run the team. Simplistic checklist I would have thought would be:

1) Great squad of players - tick
2) Last bloke had defence more or less sorted, so no need to mess - tick
3) Put arm round them and tell them they are wonderful - tick
4) Add a bit of width - tick
5) Easy street - tick

I know the defensive situation is horrendous with the injuries, and of course I am neither asking him to go nor saying 3 games of a season shows what we are about, however I certainly expected better - particularly with that start vs the bar codes.

I reckon MP will get us sorted, the players will respond and we will go onwards and upwards but it is fascinating (and fucking nerve wracking) watching the transition. The time for comparison will be after a couple of seasons.

we're so much better now and the players don't get criticised bless 'em and they're so happy now and....

oh wait...

The time to judge is in may.

No... I agree this thread may be a tad premature but MAY FFS.... when we're mid-table and out of the CL and FA Cup.

Pellegrini can be judged on a game by game basis.

So far for me 3/10.

I'd say 6 out of 9.

I see what you did there...like it ;0)

If we are to have a daft thread, I'll throw a daft stat in for you.

Mancini's win % is 59.16....(premier league and FA cup winner...)
Pellegrini's is 66.66.
