Pros and Cons of Mancini. Why he should stay and why he shouldn't?
Pros:
Defense. Since his appointment players who were good or worse have become much better. Kompany, Zabaleta, Richards (Crap under Hughes), Clichy (Arsenal fans said he was rubbish) etc. When I look at the positions these players play in, it tells me that Mancini knows how to build a defense. The statistics back this up 100%.
Cons:
Attack. We struggle to score goals under Mancini. People will point to last season when we won the league but a big percentage of the goals we scored were in the first 3.5 months of the season. Take away those 3.5 months from the 3 years and a bit he's been here and we are hardly a goal machine. This comes down to a rigid down the middle style of play which can be easier to play against when compared to a style which involves pace and width. A lack of goal scoring midfielders and a lack of players getting into the box during our attacks is also to blame.
Pros:
Success. Under Mancini we have won the Premier League, FA Cup & Community Shield. Qualified for the Champions League twice, got through to a League Cup Semi Final & two FA Cup Semi Finals. This success has brought some fantastic moments, not just for Manchester City but for English & world football. Aguero's goal against QPR is one of the games all time great moments.
Cons:
Failure. We have failed to got out of our Champions League group on both occassions. This season we even failied to win a game. To be honest, apart from when we played Porto, we've even looked average at best when we've played in the Europa League. In the league we are 15 points behind United and looked pretty much out of it by February. That is pretty shocking.
Why Mancini should stay?
Under Mancini domestic success is already here. Even a 'bad' season has seen us reach an FA Cup Semi Final.
Mancini knows what is wrong. He knew we lacked a clinical player like Van Persie and he knew we lacked a player like Hazard who could put that extra bit of zip into our side. I fully believe that if we got these two players then we would have won the league by a landslide. Is it Mancini's fault that we have a weaker squad than last season? Is is Mancini's fault that United have a better squad than last season? Think of the success United have had, now United are on the verge of their greatest ever league season. That's hard to beat no matter how good you are.
Look at the other teams closest to us. I'd say overall we've looked better than Chelsea, Arsenal & Spurs when we've played them. Any improvment to our squad will see that continue. We're only 2 or 3 players short of what is required. They just have to be the best and they have to fix our weaknesses.
Why Mancini should go?
Mancini's man management is horrific. How many times do you hear Ferguson slate his players in public, as a team and as individuals? Mancini does this way too much, with Kompany being the lastest target. Not just in football, but in all ways of working life, this pisses people off and makes them unhappy.
The mentioned failure in Champions League and Europe as a whole. We don't look good at all in Europe. The opposition always seems to be one step ahead of us. When you're up against the very best teams in the world, you don't just need the best players but you need the best tactics as well. We look well short here.
Better manager's are also available. You'd be stupid to say no to Jose Mourinho. I don' think our club is stupid.
