As our Abu Dhabi owner and management team ARE ALL long term planning and development types it means it will take a hell of a lot for the Sheikh to change his mind on Roberto Mancini inside a year of a new contract being offered.

FFS it took a year and a half for Hughesless to get the push and even then if he'd have come up with a plan to get out of the rut of 9 draws on the bounce rather than the glib: "IT will come right" - he might have got longer.

I agree that Klopp would most likely succeed with our team and resources, I also agree that he would have us playing entertaining football, I just don't agree that Mancini should be replaced in the first place.

Well if it wasn't hysterical, you choose the adjective because I didn't make any sort of jibe but, if I had, it would have been expensive.

And, for the record, I don't have any problem with people wanting to stick with Mancini but I am heartily sick of the abuse, digs and snide remarks made to people that have a different point of view (and I'm not having a go at you, Pablo).

Not at many Dortmund matches. Wasn't that only the second time they have failed to score this season (the other time being against Bayern)?

Lost to Hamburg away , Schalke at home...Wolfsburg at home..oh forget got hammered 4-1 at home to Hamburg a month or so back..scored though so thats a plus...

Dortmund are a very good team under an excellent coach and played exceptionally well against us but they stink the place out at times just as we stink the place at times. I do know that if we got smacked 4-1 at home to someone like Newcastle I doubt if we would get a cheery 'well at least we scored a goal thats good isn't it?" level of post match analysis.

There are people of all sorts of age and presumably experience on this board and I hope it is a not a cheap jibe - no sarcasm intended - to suggest that some of them have little or no management experience or training.

So to reiterate my earlier point. No one is entirely sure who reports to who or even it seems what their remit is or where Txiki or Mancini fit into the management structure or whether Txiki has the authority to fire Mancini or not. Nice to see we are debating with all the facts to hand. And yes that does include me :)

And in other news given I was urged to see how well other teams play compared to ourselves...Dortmund were good but couldn't finish for toffee - where have I seen that before - and Malaga were ok(ish) but seemed to lose their way in the second half and it all got a bit disjointed. Bayern were excellent and Juve were...timid and very disappointing.

Heynckes in. Shame he's 104 and about to jack it in...but flavour of the month is so the way forward when picking your next coach

You see this is what I don't get about the fans who want Mancini to "move on" they think the next manager will be this utopian leader plays mind blowing football week in week out who shakes players hands and gives the players a nice cheesy smile when subbed! They will get a shock no such manager exists and who ever replaces Mancini in the near future will have similar failures but this time the manager might be one who wins fuck all! God forbid after 2 seasons

Had our team cost 30 million rather than 200 million, we might be afforded that slack after winning the league two years on the bounce.

Give Klopp a couple hundred million quid to add depth and extra quality to his squad, and I have a feeling their number of losses would decrease. Their energetic pressing style needs a deeper squad than they have to fully compete on all fronts, they run out of steam too much as it is because their players are expending so much energy. I think tonight you also saw some of the symptoms, they played well and should have won but that extra edge, that 25% or so extra energy they showed against us and Real, wasn't there because the same core group of players have run themselves into the ground this season.
