Don't over react. This defeat was coming. But this group won the league and the League Cup last year, and when the ACON is over we will have a very strong squad injuries permitting.

The task for now is to keep in touch with Chelsea and that means avoiding defeat at Chelsea. By the time we play them Aguero will have had another hour or so against Boro and two more weeks training

The Barcelona game is 6 weeks away

Toure, Bony will be back by then. Aguero should be fit by then and Nasri should be back too

It will be a different team.

Barca will be Nasri's first game back most likely with it being a 3-4 week injury he has picked up so won't be match sharp.

Toure is banned for the first tie.

If we concede 2 goals at home to Barca it's game over.

Unfortunately Marvin, Toure is suspended.

We need to cut this crap defending out because if we don't they will cut through us without Toure playing.

Until we develop a pressing style of defence (as , ironically every fookin club has done to us of late) we will give attacking players way too much time on the ball.. this is not an option against talented attacks and, as games v Weds, Burnley CSKA have shown, make lesser opposition look better than they are

Why the F@@k are we so unable to press ??

On attacking corners.. I have seen Hough End junior teams show more imagination

On defending corners... are we man-for-man or zonal ? Are the players themselves clear about this ???

Sorry

not good enough at present
We did press them. For 25 mins in the 2nd half we had the pinned back and were all over them. Fernando won everything but I think we should have started with a 2nd striker seeing as we were short of creative players in the team.

The problem was we switched off at the back and also were too reliant on Navas and Silva. We

Irrespective of the playing personnel we should expect better defending at free kicks, Everton, Burnley and Arse all scored from similar free kicks outside the box.
You would also expect professional footballers to be able to put in a decent corner. Was it 16 corners today and the only half decent one was the one taken short.
Coaches have to take some of the responsibility as do the players. Pub teams would be bollocked for taking corners like us and for our attempts at defending free kicks. Corners have been a problem all season. Strange we seem to have done ball all to address these probelms.
Our taking of free kicks is also poor compared to last season.

No Kolarov, no Mangala, no Dzeko, no Yaya Toure. All key at set pieces. So we should have played them short. Like you say coaching error. Should have identified that at half time at the least.

Arguably a career define two weeks for Manuel because the Boro' game is must win and the Chelsea game is must not lose.

Lose both of them and the Barca game becomes our season defining game.

I just hope Pellegrini can get the boys focused for Boro because no doubt they will be wanting to just get the Chelsea game out of the way, but Boro' are going to be a real tough contender next Saturday.

Lose to Chelsea and its game over for me, I can't see Chelsra dropping another 8 point lead with Mourinho in charge, plus we still have to go away to Liverpool, United and Spurs.

If we end the season 10 points adrift and there is disunity in our squad then it is definitely goodbye Manuel.

I agree.

A number of our players will be playing for their careers at City in the next few months so we will see which ones are serious about creating more history and which ones are not.

If they are not up for the fight and at least make it difficult for Chelsea then MP might not get a third season in charge.

Five cups in 5 years that was the breif ! to come out with "definitely goodbye Manuel" are the Words of a gobshite!
