Well it’s only age if that’s the only bit you choose to read. We paid 42 for a player injured a lot of last year to come in and play back up. But 50m for a full back which is quite often the going rate isn’t. Weird. His age matters of course. We pay 50m and get 6 or 7 years out of him then it’s a bargain. here’s some rationale, the best club in England want him and have wanted him all summer, because we’ve scouted him and really rated him. 30m is fine for us to value him at, just don’t waste a summer chasing a club who aren’t budging. Move on weeks ago.So the only thing that matters when it comes to price is age? FFS...
Value is about assessing RISK - all transfers are a risk to some degree but some things mitigate the risk (prem proven, CL proven, International player, proven record of not being a nob etc) and I have no idea on that last one but Cucurella doesn't tick ANY of the other boxes.. so BIG RISK hence not just slapping £50m on the table
So instead of calling people insane why don't you give me any kind of rational reason why he's a "quality left back"
You can't - your just presuming 12 months at Brighton with 1 season in the prem is enough to risk £50m on and it just isn't...
