Marc Cucurella

Pep doesn’t get everyone he likes. Sometimes Pep is portrayed as a mixture of a genius and a spoilt child. It doesn’t work like that and neither would Pep want it to.

City, like nearly all clubs (except United it seems) look at what will happen when the current Manager moves on, not just while he is here. We naturally look at the chances of a player fitting in from all aspects and that is before the finances kick in.

City have demonstrated time and again that we will walk away if the asking price is too much. Getting a player at any cost isn’t the way the club is run now and it’s working.

Pep is a big cog in the decision process but he isn’t alone.

I expect Cucurella to come but if Brighton value him significantly higher than we do then they keep him and City move on.

I think this one will drag on.

Brighton fans are right. He has a long contract and a chairman who will stick to a price.
Up to City to meet it. It won’t be cheap and it probably will be 50m.

With City having Cancelo and Zinchenko at LB it’s not a signing that’s as important as replacing Fernandinho, hence the Phillips deal done quicker.

I see this maybe even going to deadline day.

Cucurella is going to have to force this if he wants it. If he does it will likely happen and maybe Zinchenko leaving late in the window as well if it does.

Based on what? Why would anyone in their right mind drop one of our top five performers? He hasn't shown any signs of slowing down so where is this idea of replacing him with Cancelo coming from?
Cancelo is not going to replace him but we are going to have a tactical shift to adapt to play inverted wingers and play crosses to the striker. Walker is bad at all this aspect and are cancelo's strength. Playing cancelo there will also give us the option to play two strikers or two no 6
