Marcos Lopes

Right. So, because Hazard spent a couple of years there before going to Chelsea, Digne was once overrated and Debuchy played there, we should leave Lopes playing hoofball in a dire team with no attacking intent where he's already suffered one bad injury due to the incompetence of their staff, when tbf, we could use him here or failing that, he'll have no end of suitors for a loan spell next season.

I don't know how many were Academy graduates (a misleading term as Lille signed Hazard and Origi, a good €55m of that list, from other clubs academies) at Ajax but they've brought in more (€84m) than Lille in transfers in the same time period and developed every player, maybe we should loan him there? After all the Dutch league has a fantastic reputation too.

First: Quality of defending is much better in Ligue 1 compare to other leagues.
Second: Even if there will be suitors, there is no guarantee they will play him week in, weak out.
Third: Unlike at City where our players hardly pass to youth players whenever someone gets the chance, he is probably the only creative option they have, and Lille players seem to trust him.

Go watch the game he played in against West Ham last year again.

Go watch the game where Rekik played at left-back.

What the fuck does that have to do with Lopes? He's played in our team before and nobody has had any problem giving him the ball.

Why the **** are you telling me to watch a match where we were leading 9-0 on aggregate? This proves nothing.

Get Lopes in the squad next season, I reckon with a run of games he can cement a first team place.

We have to give a youngster a chance next season or our whole holistic approach is going to look a complete sham.

How misleading and incorrect

A reputation deservedly earned by fantastic academies at Lyon and Marseille. Not so much Lille.

That's why i said Ligue 1, nor i am comparing them with Lyon. Anyway, they were still above Ajax and Rive Plate in that list.

Couple of years? Hazard joined Lille when he was 14 and played over 100 games for them before he turned 20

Lille are on TV later so Lopes watch awaits!!
I didn't watch it but he got the assist for a 0-1 win away to Guingamp. That was only their 2nd back to back win of the season...

Did he not mean the game today that kicks off at 1300? BT2

Like I said, he got the assist in his last game and they're on for their first 3 wins in a row against Rennes today ;)

Hey, I work nights and didn't get enough sleep, so sue me.

I'm convinced this guy can improve our squad, I'd have him back and playing for us now if the loan rules allowed it.

Not in the squad today.

Lille only named 6 subs, bizarre.

Interesting watch by the way:

Good piece that, cheers.

Be interesting to see what we decide for next season. He knows he needs game time, so will probably want some assurances about that if he is to be in City's squad. All the nasty shit atmosphere around the club & dummy spitting, such as on the main forum, will not make it easier for these lads to get games next season.

I despair when half of them up there want to sell 15 players and sack both the manager and DoF because we've had a bad 10 games. They'll crucify young lads like Denayer and Lopes. Hopefully their venom isn't repeated in the media though you do often see the media agendas move towards echo chambers in situations
