Mario Balotelli

He gave us some of the best laughs and comical stories. He gave us the why always me goal against the scum. He gave us many pieces of outrageous skill and and a goal with his shoulder. And dont forget the theatrical winks. He also gave us(and his only) the most important assist ever seen at the Etihad. But after saying all that, what a wasted talent. We'll always love the kid, but he just didn't get to where he should have.
This sums him up perfectly.

Some moan about bad publicity but I had no problem with it. At that time it was more about press regardless if it was negative or positive , infact negative press gets more air time than positive. That’s what celebrities and so called stars do all the time . I thoroughly enjoyed and valued at the same time .

6-1
FA Cup Semi
FA Cup Final
Spurs penalty
Norwich shoulder goal

Five off the top of my head. However, I concede he wouldn’t have featured under any other City manager.
The waist-high volley at Blackburn. The first of four that day, I believe, after we’d been under the cosh or had gone behind.

Don't forget West Brom away , scored twice and sent off. As you say something (good or bad) always seemed to happen when he was on the pitch, always made me laugh .

It was reported that HRH loved him because of the publicity he brought to the club.

FWIW, I loved Mario too.

He was a character and brought us so many light moments. There was a photo going around of him balancing on two footballs. It really caught my imagination.

And that first goal in the Sick Swan; what a finish!

Love the bloke. Never any doubt when he put the ball on the spot. We should re sign him just for penalty taking!

Wound the rags up no end.

He definitely had the talent. If he applied himself like Messi, or De Bruyne he'd have been world class...

Lets not forget the brilliant Mario song

Was that not his debut? Sums up his City career for me.

My memory is hazy but I’m convinced he’d not quite signed for Liverpool in time to play against us and a couple of genuine Scouse fans were having a pint in The Waldorf before the match. My friend and I were telling them it was a daft signing and he wouldn’t work for them. I think he scored once.

I’ve always said that I’d rather not waste time or energy with folk who didn’t have a soft spot for Mario. It’s usually the worlds biggest fucking bores that don’t like him as this thread confirms…
He did bloody well, given his allergy to grass and penchant for setting fireworks of in his own bathroom.
