Hughes took the club forward in terms of stature and performance.
Hughes created a fighting spirit and a good work ethic in the squad.
He signed some class players and none of his signings have failed completely.
For that, I say: Thanks Mark Hughes, I'll always remember you as a good city manager with just something missing. Perhaps its just experience, maybe luck...but thanks to him, he did the club good and I hope there's no hurt feelings.
He'll be an ex-city manager to me, not an ex-united player. I think he really wanted and gave it his all and his failings did not have anything to do with a lack of emotion for the club. Wish him all the best.

Great signings-awful tactics and baffling subs-you did my head in at times.
Couldn't organise a defence to save your life-but great going forward.
Enjoyed the press responses-especially to ferguscsum.
But you were allowed to blame the squad you inherited for your own shortcomings and get the money you wanted to buy "your" players for the first time in managerial history.
You were never going to be the man who could manage top class players like Robinho or Adeybeyor,or take City to the top level the owners backing demand.
Not your fault-just the way life is.
