Pretty dull affair, but job done and another win on the board with some key players rested. Hopefully we can continue with this consistency and put up a big performance at the weekend.

Don’t want to hear Pep moaning about 5 subs again though. So frustrating having to listen about the league ‘killing the players’, only for him to bring on two subs in a dead rubber fixture.

It was a terrible advert for the academy this evening and very disappointed Doyle/Palmer didn’t even get a look in. Zero point involving them in the squad if they’re just going to be benched.

Utterly bizarre to not give any minutes to the kids, what was the point of weakening the EDS yesterday?

I think Pep just respects the competition, our result affected the Europa spot, as simple as that.

Job done no drama some vital minutes into the likes of Laporte ake and Sergio. Sergio and sterling getting much needed goals, stones looking absolutely colossal once more clean sheet for steffen, very minor complaint for Pep not using all subs, could easily have replaced Fernandinho with Doyle at any point in the second half but it’s very minor in the grand scheme of things. Unfortunate for garcia but he shouldn’t be seeing much gametime anytime soon anyway. Can’t be much happier with that tonight. Now let’s smash United.

Comfortable throughout.

Fernandinho is such an authority figure. I often watch "just him" for periods of a few minutes and the man is unbelievably intelligent and streetwise.

We are so much better when he's in the side.

Also enjoyed Ake's performance. Other than getting absolutely skinned on the 40 minute mark he was mustard. Such a calm and composed player.

Foden also a bright spot for me. I love the way he loves to try things and think out of the box even if they dont always come off.

He also takes a wicked corner which is something we've not had in our armoury for years.

Onwards.
