I didn't know Martin is in the Argentina squad. Good for him! He deserves it. They really don't have any experienced central defenders and they could use him.

The only concern is that Argentina are going to be very heavily attack based and that defence of their is going to be left exposed on numberous occassions, will Demichelis' pace be a good pick for them?

For those wondering why Tevez isn't in the squad it's because of the disruption between him and Messi, it's either one or the other basically and Sabella has chosen to build the team around Messi.
Tevez would not have started or he would have played out of position because of this and Sabella cannot risk another Copa America situation where Tevez was moaning that he was not playing in his preferred position which is where Messi plays.
Tim Vickery if I remember correctly was saying something like Messi and Tevez don't get on as well.

Tevez's record for Argentina is pretty poor and the front 3 of Aguero, Messi and Higuain have been scoring of fun.

I hope he makes the squad; his experience will be invaluable in Brazil. And he'll have that fucking man alongside him in the defence. You know, the one who is harder than Jaap Stam!

If attack based i'd say he'd be an asset as he reads the game so well and is wonderful in the tackle. first to the ball 90% of the time!
