Absolutely brilliant today, so no surprise that there is no post in this thread. :)

Shame that it came after two horrible displays though.

He's never horrible, most of the time he plays great, it's horrible occasional mistakes that do him no favour.

That's a better definition on his play, very true. He was actually a beast against Barca in the first half.

I mean at the Etihad not when he was suspended. :)

Agreed....Not got the pace to play a high line but a cultured footballing CB

Played really well today and has done in other games (Newcastle away springs to mind).

Sadly though he can be responsible for giving soft goals away which no team can afford.

does anyone else think he draws more attention to himself than necessary with having that bloody ponytail ? yes he makes mistakes but he seems to stand ou more than the others

Going down to 10 and as a result playing deeper really suited him today. Without the space behind him he was a lot more comfortable and had a good game. We kept a great line, which you'd imagine he was surely responsible for organising. Stayed on his feet today as well, which helps

He's talented but ridiculously error prone.

Today he didn't make an error but there will be plenty of games where he plays really well but then fucks up massively.

A bit like Dunne on speed.

Did we really play deep? I think not held quite a high line for me.

Edge of our area, exactly on the line almost all game. Usually we'd be on the halfway line

One moment of madness when he legged it out of the defensive line for no reason when Long had a good chance and shot straight at Hart around the 48/49th minute.

Other than that he played very well today.
