Hard to blame a defensive system for the goal the other day. It was a throw in down the line to the only player in our bloody half, it was pretty impressive to even give them a chance from there, yet alone a penalty. Other than having a player stand 2 yards behind DM to cover for his fuck ups, it's hard to see what system could have helped him out tbh

controversial view, I thought Richards was at fault for both goals.

And I have never seen a defender go down so easily as he does. When I see him collapse and hurt in a heep when he could so easily get back on his feet and make an effort it tells me something about his character

I remember his early promise, and we all know he has ability. If he applied himself to learn and be more dedicated he would be first choice every week in my opinion

Something odd about Richards, a blue through and through but seems to have lost it completely. The lad needs a fresh start, somewhere where he'll play every week.

I find it hard how anyone can say that MDM isn't a liability. His speed is woeful, Lescott out sprinted him 3 times on Sunday so don't use this, it's a myth slant. He dives in consistently leaving the rest of the defence to chase back and make up for his errors. MP May want ball playing defenders but MDM slows the play down. He is a liability.

Adjusting to English football for foreign players can take time and especially for defenders. Vidic and Evra had mediocre starts to their time over here but became arguably the two most consistent defenders in the Prem League and they had youth on their side whereas MDM does not. He's a good footballer and a decent defender but the adjustment and his age leave him prone to the odd mistake and as a CB his mistakes are more noticeable and more costly. But honestly what more could you expect from him this season? He himself is not te problem, playing him too much, in key games and not having faith in the other CBs is the real issue and for that I'm afraid you have to blame Pellegrini.

Its pretty straightforward - look at his season - look at the mistakes he has made - look at the goals / points / games he has cost us and there is only one conclusion MDM - JUST NOT GOOD ENOUGH
Before the Demichelis fan club come on with their stats that supposedly show he is the best defender at the club who makes the least mistakes, it is worth pointing out that he has made absolutely loads of terrible school boy errors that have put us in terrible situations but luckily for him, not many of them have actually cost us goals. But it is just luck, he could have cost us about 20 goals through mistakes, the way he dives in.

Not controversial, he was badly at fault for both goals.

He's missing in the right-back slot for the first which results in the penalty.

For the second, laughable in the extreme. He's a by-stander until he can't hide anymore. At that point, he stands side on with both of his arms behind his back and makes himself as small a target as possible for the cross.

Thinking more about about handball than stopping the actual centre.

-- Tue Mar 11, 2014 9:00 am --

You could just as easily be describing Kompany, and we all know it.

you are right about VK... nobody says anything because he is captain but if demi or lescott do anything, god forbid...

What pisses me off more than his constant fuck ups is that I know he'll keep starting games. As much as pellegrini has got things right and got playing some amazing football this constant choice to pick demichellis is mind boggling.
