correct.it was seven.six passes and one header.those stats under no pressure are utter shocking.some empty heads on here really do believe he played well.i despair.

Agreed he put those passes wrong.. and those mistakes would be more severely punished by better opposition, but let's not get too bipolar about this

I also saw him doing some good work today at the back, interceptions, tackles to break up play etc etc...

Let's get a bit pf perspective here

He only misplaced the passes because he was taking risks against a piss poor opposition by trying to move the ball forwards quickly. No way would he have tried them if we were playing a better team.
None of those passes were down to taking a risk, they were straight forward, under no pressure and no more than 20 yards. It doesn't make him a bad player and there were more than enough positives to take from his game, the poor distribution was there for all to see though.

The lads a bit ring rusty thats all. Hopefully as he gets up to match fitness and more importantly up to the speed of the Premier league things will be a lot better. The lad can play football thats for sure, and a simple trip to specsavers, with a colour blind test should do the trick lol!! Seriously I've no worries the lad can play football and like Ferandinho (who is now looking a real player) it might just take a few weeks to get up to speed.

87 passes at 91%.

He misplaced a few, but overall a pretty good return.

He made 87 passes today? How many did we do all together?
If he did then to be fair, 80 of them were to Nastasic

I agree completely mate, he did an awful lot right today and nothing came of his poor distribution so it's a case of onwards and upwards. I don't think we can just gloss over some of those passes as they were in pretty dangerous areas and luckily for us Norwich's powder puff forward line failed to capitalise.

Defensively I thought he played well.

Distributionally i thought he did not have the best game with those aforementioned errant passes. However I put that down to lack of game time.

With that being said though, with Kompay out, who would you prefer to partner Nastasic? Demichelis, Lescott or Garcia?

He was just getting to know his teammate's movement, more game times together will correct those missed pass though.

I dont know what you expect from him on his 2nd match in a new country, with new teamates and coming back from a significant injury,he is going to be rusty but i feel much better with him there whist vinnie is out

I don't want to be too negative because I think he has looked ok defensively in his two games but I don't see how anyone can blame rustiness or being in a new team for those passes. He was under no pressure at all for any of them and it wasn't like he was trying to do anything clever or play the ball long. I'd expect an ex top division pro who hadn't played for 10 years to be able to not give the ball straight to the opposition in the same situations.

I like what I see of him. His touch and technique is very good, very comfortable on the ball, few errant passes but I think that's not exactly unexpected whilst he's trying to bed in with rest of the team.

And after those jibes that he's another slow poke in the Barry/Garcia/Lescott mould, I've comfortably come to the conclusion that he's easily faster than them and in fact has reasonable pace for a centre half & a guy of his age.

I don't think there's a problem with his pace and his fitness will improve with games. He does seem a tad Garcia-esque in that he tends to dwell on the ball, hasn't yet adapted to the pace of the PL, thinks he's got more time than he has. Hopefully that's a temporary issue.

Bleedin ell give the guy some slack! Some on here already slagging him off at the first chance want to give there heads a wobble. For me he played really well, those misplaced passes will soon be eradicated from his game when he gets up to match speed. Can't wait to see him line up with Vinny. A calming experienced player at the back is just what we need and for me he brings this.
