Rape while in a relationship as well, against someone who the police know will have a good lawyer. Yeah, good luck getting them to pursue that enthusiastically. The sad reality is that most women are fully aware of how little the justice system will help them in these situations

What are you even arguing here? For all you know the girl could have been to the police several times and got no where, was rumours about him months ago and Southgate has stayed clear.
