Bullshit again, he does not provide anything new, specially when he doesn't play at all.
Out of favour again but Oscar is in his place. Considering how well Oscar is doing it's hard to question the decision. I don't know what will become of Mata, but it's early days in the season yet. He'll play against Arsenal tomorrow so we'll see how he does.

Mata ready to leave Chelsea in January as PSG prepare £35m bid

The Europa League holders are willing to listen to offers from abroad for the Spain international, who is concerned about missing out on selection for next summer's World Cup.

Chelsea star Juan Mata is ready to leave the club in January as big-spending French side Paris Saint-Germain prepare a bid worth £35 million for the playmaker.

The Spanish star started and scored in Tuesday’s Capital One Cup win against Arsenal but is unhappy under Jose Mourinho having again been left out of the starting line-up for key matches including last Sunday’s home win over Manchester City.

Mata is fearful for his place in the Spain squad for next summer’s World Cup in Brazil - and he is ready to quit Stamford Bridge in the winter as he goes in search of regular first-team football.

Chelsea are willing to listen to offers for the 25-year-old but will refuse to sell him to a Premier League rival, ruling out a transfer to Manchester United or Tottenham, who both tried to sign the former Valencia man over the summer.

Mata is happy in London and has publicly vowed to fight for his place and declared himself "happy" at Stamford Bridge. Behind the scenes, however, he is strongly considering his future, especially with no sign of a new deal to improve on his £70,000-a-week contract which runs until 2016.

“I am happy at Chelsea. I have always felt the support of the fans - in every game, on the street - I have felt the love from them. I try to play for them, score for them and make them happy. We have great support," he told Talksport on Wednesday.

“I want to play as much as I can, but if you want to win titles you need 24-25 players ready to play. Anyone can play any game."

Mata’s father, who also acts as the player’s agent, is understood to have made discrete enquiries to sound out potential interest in his son.

PSG are the leading contenders at this stage, with sources confirming to Goal that the Ligue 1 club tried to sign Mata in the summer and are preparing to return with a bumper bid in the new year.

Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid have both ruled out bids for the midfielder, while Valencia’s precarious financial situation means they are unable to fund a move to re-sign their former star.

Mata has failed to establish himself in Mourinho’s plans this season, often settling for a place on the substitutes’ bench, especially in big games against Manchester United, Spurs and City.

Mourinho has cited Mata’s lack of defensive work as the main reason behind the Spain international’s frequent omission, with Oscar preferred in the No.10 role at Stamford Bridge.

Mata has been Chelsea’s player of the year in the last two seasons, and last term scored 12 goals and provided 12 assists in the Premier League alone.

goal.com manages to use quotes which contradict their story to reinforce their point.

Not sure what will happen to him but if he's to be sold we could get more than 35m.

Really, from who? That is a good price in my opinion. If he is unwanted I can't see even the french moneybags spending more than that on him- Not a "marquee" name player with global reputation or hype surrounding him like Bale, neither Real or Barca have any need for him, likewise Bayern, can't see a Serie A club moving for him. Us or United might want him but we have no need for him, they have lots of attacking midfielders and he does n't necessarily fit in with their style of play. Can't see any chance of a big bidding war, so yeah you would do well to get £35 million for him.

His numbers were better than Ozil and Iniesta last season. I'm still confident there's a place for him here.

Class player, 12 goals in 35 in the league last year is great for an attacking midfielder, however Oscar seems to have the ability to equal or surpass that kind of contribution with 4 in 9. I think Mourinho likes the fact that he has a player who defends more, and is more of a complete footballer akin to lampard. Plus with his preference for direct wingers, Juan is obviously the odd one out.

Mata is still more creative than Oscar and his set piece delivery is better than anyone else on the team. It's hard to judge Oscar offensively because he's been out wide for most of his time here until now, so we'll have a better idea at the end of the season. The biggest difference is Oscar's work off the ball, he essentially becomes a 3rd central midfielder. He's a more complete player, but our attack has noticeably suffered without Mata tying it all together.

We're only 9 games into the league though. Mourinho pulled similar stunts on flair players with weakness out of possession before, notably Joe Cole. It worked for them, and Mata seems to be responding positively, so I'll reserve judgement for the time being. I'm more concerned about KDB who has hardly had a sniff since the first few games, even though he had a great preseason and impressed in the league early on.

If he is available we should buy him whatever the fee whether Chelsea would sell him to us is another question.
Class player and would be perfect for us on either left or right wing to supplement Dave and Samir.

We don't know need him imo we already have two creative midfielders in Silva and Nasri plus Jovatic. We need a left winger more than anything.

This one is a tricky transfer cause firstly, we have to look at City's current squad and evaluate the attacking talents available. On positions that Mata can fill for City, we have Silva who is arguably an "undroppable", Navas who has been beyond decent thus far, Milner who offers something different although not spectacular and Nasri who is suddenly pulling his own weight and turning out to be near the player he was at Arsenal. Secondly, will Mata be satisfied with a rotation role at City? I can see Mata as a direct backup to Silva and a slight upgrade to the other three options we have. Then again, Mata does suit our playing style, a controlled possession-based attacking approach and with Silva and Mata occupying the wings, it makes for a truly mouthwatering prospect. Although I can't really picture Mou selling Mata despite the fact that he is getting lesser game time due to Oscar's emergence as the preferred counter-attacking option. I think it boils down to who will last longer at Chelski, whether Mou will live beyond this season or if Mata gets truly frustrated first cause if I am Mata, I will see that Mou does not stick around very long at each of his last few clubs and take a gamble at the situation. However, if Mata does come available at an affordable price, I think he won't be a bad one to add to the team.
