Match of the Day last night

If you want to complain about the disgraceful anti City bias, ring the complaints dept 03700100222. Get it off your chest! Nothing will change however.

Thank the stars i have Sky and don't have to listen to that drivel. I sometimes catch in on a Sunday morning and this morning i was stunned.

Shit programme
even shiter presenters
and Alan fooking Hansen.

and some woman whose dad played a few games for wales.

If anyone on here had a wife who was battling cancer, how do you think you'd feel if twitter was full of people wishing her dead simply because you made a mistake at work (and that's likely what is was. Unless you believe that referees are receiving wads of cash for changing games then is it likely they would put up with the abuse and criticism they get for bad decisions just for the sake of some 'lets keep united happy' conspiracy?)

We've seen abuse of referees spill over in the past from online to phone calls, letters and personal abuse in the streets so the BBC deciding to give him a break for once is hardly the greatest evil of all time.

Although they should have dealt with the (none) penalty, i'm ok with the fact they didn't. Since it didn't affect the end result, it does make a difference to how it is dealt with. Mark is only human, and has had a hard time in his personal life and recently on the pitch. I have no doubts he will have had a look at his decisions, and also have been graded by his boss. So he will feel bad enough already, so some compassion is the decent thing to do......this time only!

We all agree we haven't had a storming start to the season, and that was highlighted by Hanson. But he also backed it up by saying that winning away when you are not great "is" the mark of champions. He then said that it was a great result, and that we did play well. They were trying to work out why we have started slow, and again as pointed out on here Kompany has been poor, and our poor defence is partly to blame. They actually complimented him by saying that because he sets such high standards, his sudden drop in form stands out. After the Kompany montage, they did comment that because he is so good, it will only be a blip.

So i actually got the impression they were saying that when Kompany gets his form back (therefore a solid defence), we will soon be unbeatable. So not a great analysis and crap about the away kit colour, but hardly slaughtering us either.

Quite understandable and no real problem for me. Actually, the presenters didn't even have to mention it and it was the way the presenter put it across that got me, basically saying that Halsey was incompetent with her reaction.

The rest though was down-right disrespectful, to both teams and viewers alike. The shirt thing and then onto a bashing of Vince after winning away to a team who haven't lost at home in 13 or so games, hadn't conceded a home goal this season and a team that we hadn't beat there for many seasons.

We know it's turned into a crap programme, it's just that now they can't even talk about the positives. The Champions, yes, Champions of England win away to a dogged Fulham under extremely difficult circumstances yet they choose to ridicule the colour of a teams shirt and pick holes in the teams captain.

They portrayed a mundane 50-50 game where we played shit and won despite the best efforts of our captain to lose the game. It was nothing of the sort, and they know it.

The kit comment was just a bit of a joke, she'd asked hansen about the lpool kit what with him being ex lpool and then asked mick about our kit what with him being ex city. They didn't want to slaughter halsey in sympathy and respect for his personal situation which is ok by me - the inference to the potential slaughtering was enough.

Whilst I thought the 'analysis' was typically poor, doesn't the fact that they chose not to review the penalty mean that in their opinion the referee made the wrong decision? I think any sane person watching the coverage could see that it was a poor decision (even Red Cafe said it was harsh) and that it wasn't examined purely out of respect for Halsey. Had they thought there was any legitimacy to the decision they would have defended him. Admittedly, that doesn't excuse not covering what appeared to be a genuine Tevez penalty claim. Out of interest as I don't look at Twitter how did Gabby Yorath defend their non-coverage?

I think she tweeted that because they were running tight, time-wise, they decided (as it wasn't a game deciding moment) not to analyze the Fulham penalty. They also alluded to the fact that Halsey had had a tough week, and they didn't want to subject him to a grilling and possibly more abuse/death threats.

Did everyone see Fergie's interview? Did I hear correctly that he was complaining that there was only 4 minutes injury time?

Ye syou heard correctly. Despite there being no real injuries requiring treatment and the subistitutions being the only reason for additional time he complained there was only 4 minutes added on. The old piss can has really started to lose it.

Referee should know the rules to be fair!

Was this the same Fergie that was pointing at his watch when Utd were one up against Sunderland in the last game of last season?
I've stopped watching MOTD, shocking, shocking program and sad really because it used to be so good.
