Would like to get an extra man in midfield to get proper control, midfield is invisible again.

4-3-3 with Fernandinho sitting deeper Yaya next to Silva pushing forward, Aguero and Navas wide forwards and Dzeko up top.

Currently there is no clear plan when we have the ball, its either lump it up and hope Dzeko gets it or pass to Navas / Silva and hope they do something. We also seem vulnerable to counter attacks still, an extra man in the middle might help out with that.

After the pre-season, I was really hopeful that Dzeko was only shit last season because of Mancini and would come good this season.

I imagined Navas would be powering in loads of crosses for Dzeko to get on the end of, but I must be deluded - Dzeko doesn't work off the ball, has a terrible first touch and looks disinterested. I think we'll be a lot better when we don't have to have him, Lescott and Kolarov playing regularly.

Forget the league I'd say top 4 would be a push the way we're fucking playing. Guess the grass isn't always greener.

Get a grip. Still early days.

The top 5 clubs are going to be very competitive, we can't afford performances like this regardless of where we are in the season.

Spot on. Play like this against the scum, chavs etc, they will rip us apart!!!

i don't even know what our gameplan is. we're not pressing, we're not sitting deep to draw them out ...

silva needs to be central
yaya can't do it in a 2
forwards barely touched the ball
lescott, kolarov poor

at least nastasic has been class

You do know we're playing a newly promoted team....at home......with a wealth of attacking talent at our disposal....and we're getting made to look like we're the newly promoted team. If anyone needs to get a grip it's the manager and the players.

This a hundred times over.

Hard to believe we're playing at home...and against Hull.

Is Rodwell on the bench? If so, I'd bring him on for Dzeko and go 4-5-1/4-2-3-1.
Dzeko? And wtf did Aguero do?
Gave effort, drew fouls, passed to his own team, etc.
And Dzeko didn't do any of that? Not even almost scored a header?

Why Dzeko
Why can't silva pass today
And why isn't Navas taking on their left back!

Here we go...
Not really interested since your grand solution against a team overrunning us in midfield is to bring on more forwards. Dzeko has been fairly anonymous besides the one decent header. Hope he turns it around second half.

I expect better from you taconinja.

Jovetic is NOT a classic striker, he can play behind Dzeko and Aguero.

I said: off Fernandinho and Navas, on Milner and Jovetic. I dont think that's much more forward-looking, just different with more people in the middle.

At least the players after putting an insipid once paced performance like this one know that the nasty Italian isn't going to be horrible to them.

I guess Roberto had a point.
