Not sure they were celebrating getting rid of Akanji because of his talent level, he was a first-team player until he refused to sign a new contract, I'd guess they would have been pissed with him because of not signing a contract.
Not arguing about Pep/scouts spotting what they see.

I still think it’s for Phillips. He was bought to be back up for Rodri who could play the Bernardo box to box if needs be but he hasn’t fitted at all. Pep doesn’t trust him it’s clear.

I know he’s apparently turned down Newcastle as he wants to stay but I think both Pep and Southgate will tell him to move on (for different reasons obviously).

Zinchenko turned down a move to Wolves, turned out alright for him in the end.

No doubt Phillips has flopped this season but the time to judge is at the end of next season.

Apologies if i came across too aggressive, perhaps a case of bellingham cold turkey,but it is not a case of trust Pep, it is a case of trust the media, as it is the media that is telling us Pep wants him, my view is, we paid £100 million for Grealish, at the time i said it was too much money for a player that improves the team only a little, but we still bought him and i have been very happy since day one, i now say £30 million plus high wages is too much for a player that does not improve the team at all, and takes up a valuable foreign spot.

I rate him pretty highly has always looked their best player when we have played them and brings great experience in which we might lose in gundo and Bernardo.
