We signed him for a deal worth €15m going off what I have just read if Wikipedia, which is around £11.5m-£12m, if we can get close to that back for him I think we will have done well.

£12m for Matija and £3m for Sinclair, £15m raised, not too bad I suppose.

He doesn't strike me as a typical Allardyce central defender but it might help Nasta get his career back on track.

Agreed, but Allardyce said he didn't expect Winston Reid to be a WHU player come the end of the season as he's delaying signing a new contract and his deal runs out June 30th. He said he'd heard rumours in football circles that Reid would be off in the summer and separate reports say he's rumoured to be a free target for Arsenal.

Reid's not a typical BFS type CB, so the Nastasic rumours may have legs if it's correct that Schalke have pulled out. Allardyce was warned at the end of last season that WHU wanted an end to his clogger style of 18th century football and for the team to play attractive football and for better results. They told him Teddy Sheringham was being brought in as a striker coach and that he had this season to make it work, so perhaps under pressure a leopard can change its spots after all......

If he does go to West Ham then it's still a suitable destination for both us and the player.

With a new stadium coming on stream and being London based club with a loyal vociferous fan base, they sound like they could have the potential to follow in the foot steps of a certain club we all know well who've trodden a similar path.......

Fat Sam's not going to pay ten mil for him, unless he's fucking stupid or all his central defenders are dead & nobody else will sell him one.

If this deal falls through, we'll end up with him back at City again in May.

FFS. I hope this rumour is not true. It sounded like we were going to get a guaranteed 10 mil, which is an absolute Dick Turpin job.

Unless FFP gets overturned any potential owner will be slightly put off, but there will be parties interested.

If FFP got overturned, someone could turn West Ham into a powerhouse with that new stadium, the potential would be huge.

From what I recall that figure doesn't include the £6m valuation of Savic who went the other way making the deal valued at closer to £18m..
