I think clutching at straws might be a good word here at the minute.

An italian website claiming we have done a deal with a german player. Not convinced. Take with a pinch of salt.

Goal.coms sauce is il corriero dello sport.... a sports newspaper... I think that it is quite reliable. And it does mention that the fee would be 10 million euros, and that the move would be imminent.

Parma accept €10m City bid for Kenyan Inter target Mariga

A top top player. If you've never seen him, think Essien! Very similar style and ability.
Was heavily pursued by Mourinho, but City got him.

Parma have accepted a €10 million offer for McDonald Mariga ahead of an imminent move to Premier League side Manchester City, claims Il Corriere Dello Sport.

Mariga had been linked with Italian champions Inter. But the Corriere report claims Ducali sporting director Pietro Leonardi met with City on Thursday.

He was able to convince the English club over 22-year-old Mariga's €10m fee during a series of talks which untangled the move.

Parma are now looking for an alternative midfielder to fill the void left by Mariga. Udinese star Gaetano D'Agostino has been tipped as the favourite to join the Emiliani.

The Friulani enjoy a good relationship with Parma, with talks regarding the Italy midfielder expected to take place before the transfer window deadline on Monday.

The Italians are also in the process of making Luis Jimenez's move from Inter official after all parties agreed to a loan deal until the end of the season.

"We hope to have him [Jimenez] by Monday," said Leonardi.
