Media bias against City

Perhaps not bias but, scientific fact. According to sky. More people watch Leicester City than gods chosen team. More rags watch in Manchester (probably because they can't get tickets/ are working/ was poorly that day ) Even Swansea are more popular than us. One saving grace, more people in Stockport watch the unclean.

Just caught the rag/sky article about viewing figures pmsl.

Do they get trophies for that?

Given we are not much of a draw, its difficult to explain their commercial decision to have us on the box as much as they do really lol.

Popularity or winning trophies, difficult choice for City fans I suppose.
I wonder which United fans would choose?

Wasn't Chelsea Vs City a Premiership record 650m homes tuned in to watch in in something like 175 different countries. Sky do make me laugh.

dont believe it either as a few years back I remember sky saying that viewing figures when man city are on are very good, must say though, I know many city fans who watch the rags and as soon as the rags score they turn it off

Perhaps they define popularity differently and have asked people why they watch each game so that they can only extract those that are supporting City from their viewing figures.
No problem either way because they are using City to bolster their viewing figures but as always ''beware of lies damn lies and statistics'' especially when they are manipulated by the ones who provide the results.

From about 1998 to 2001, I used to produce news summaries for the MCIVTA email newsletter. In those days, not so many people were online and an email-based resource was pretty popular. I used to get emails tipping me off about things from quite an interesting range of City fans, and one of them was a guy who then worked in the planning/scheduling department at Sky Sports. He was involved in selecting and scheduling live football, and he told me back in the 1999-2000 season that Sky regarded us as the seventh biggest draw - even though we were in the second tier at the time (IIRC, he never confirmed who the other five were, but I'm guessing United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Newcastle and Spurs). I can date it precisely because I remember him telling me that a City away game on a Tuesday night at Birmingham (which we won 1-0, with a Richard Jobson goal, and Nicky Weaver had a stormer) drew better viewing figures than the nearest Super Sunday game, though that was Boro v. Watford, so hardly the biggest attraction. Even so, he thought that, given the better slot the latter game had and the extra promotional efforts Sky put in with PL fixtures, this was a positive indicator of our strong profile.

Sky will have all the figures at their disposal, of course, and maybe they're right, but I'd nonetheless be surprised if our TV pulling power has slipped now as compared with then.

Our problem is that not enough people dislike us enough to tune in to watch us lose.

Which seems to be what the rag/dipper obsessed media are trying to put right at the moment.

Sky only want revenue and frankly are indifferent to what makes a viewer tune in.
In boxing circles Mr Mayweather has made himself mega rich simply by making people want to see him beaten rather than endearing himself to an adoring fan base

I was chuckling to myself last night listening to Talkshite
I think it was Saggers who was on after Durham and Gough and he introduced their man in Manchester
It was a bit of a rag love in, y'know Van Gaal and his joyful banter with the journos during his press conferences and the "secret centre forward" speculation
Then it was onto City. The Manchester correspondent's attitude changed and he was soooo disappointed that Sterling had opened his account and played a great game

I didn't hear it but I would presume that it was Dom McGuinness... Claims to be a Celtic fan but just 30 seconds of listening to him you know he's a rag... What he knows about City you could write on the back of a postage stamp.... That fucker hates us with a passion

When we won the league in 2012 he took a break from Talkshite and was working as a co host for some Irish or foreign sports channel... There is a clip of him taking the piss out of City and the supporters in the final few minutes leading up to the Aguero moment... When we scored, he not only looked like he was about to burst into tears but looked like he wanted to end his life.

I'm not sure if this clip is still around but I'm sure it was either posted on here or Blue vibe just after we'd won the league that year

That's the twunt
I very nearly posted that he sounded like he was going to cry

Another reason they go against us, apart from breaking up the sky 4, is that we very rarely speak to them. That's why they love the likes of redknapp, Allardyce, Holloway and warnock. You can always rely on them to spout utter shit. Especially if it's slagging us off and fawning over the rags.
Joe Hart is the only one that gives regular interviews and by and large, he escapes criticism.

Why don't you educate us all as to who these mythical "Jews who control the media" are?

As far as I can tell, of the red-tops, The Sun is owned by Rupert Murdoch, who isn't Jewish. The Mail & Mirror are publicly quoted companies. The Expreess & Star are owned by a Jewish proprietor but have the lowest circulation of all the red-tops.

And while we're at it, The Times is Murdoch again, The Telegraph is the Barclay brothers and the Guardian is owned by a trust. Not many Jews there.

But tell me different if I'm wrong. Instead of your mealy-mouthed, thinly veiled anti-semitic insinuations, either put up or shut up.

Being Anti-semitic is a very despicable and unacceptable behaviour, which incidentally yours truly is not.

Zionism is a different proposal, unfortunately it is succeeding in putting an equal sign between judaism and zionism, and by controlling and influencing the media narrative; as they promptly raise the anti-semitic card when zionist deeds are exposed.

English spoken media are globally subjected to this, they don't have to be jewish, but they are strongly aligned with zionism in order to respond to their imperialist masters policies and interests, are they not.

Now, I'll say there is no agenda, shut the fuck up next, and bury me tin foiled head in the sand.

Utter drivel

A bit like the Media agenda against City your unproven argument consists of categorising, with the broadest brush, media outlets and its numerous employees as lacking any integrity or any moral fibre and sadly I do not buy it.

Incidents like Chatila are exactly part of the public consciousness because of the sacrifices of journalists you are so critical of. People who risk their lives to report the truth only to be sneered at and categorised by sweeping generalisations. Its akin to those who lazily proclaim the Police are 'corrupt' insulting those who endeavour to produce a better society, Anyway lets get back to the football
