Media persecution of Raheem Sterling

It's clearly his own fault. The difficult chance he's already missed in this world cup and thus cost England certain glory can only bring bad press, especially when Radford would have been the better option to play...

Until recently Englands best players were United players. My point still stands we are sensitive that people expect our record breaking players to actually play well. How dare they.
I don't care about United players in all honesty and im struggling to understand why you do. Even worse, you seem to have an affection for many of their current players and at the same time have a massive chip on your shoulder about city players.

Not just united players either. Lampard and Gerrard were regularly slaughtered when they were performing for club but not country. Goes with the territory of being successful and isn’t anything new or exclusive to our players.

That's my point, not just Rooney but many players got it in the necks for that. My reply was to someone who couldn't bare the thought that the media is expectant of our players who have performed fantastically all season. They complain credit isn't given when due and then when it is they say it is to set them up to fall. Cant win. Our fan base is a set of fanny wipes currently where anything and everything offends us.

I have read all the posts since last night, you said again about these positive posts during the season and i've asked you twice about them now,it would be more honest if you just said you don't rate the lad and be done with it and we can get back to the media about him

I went onto his thread a few times praising his performances. I am not digging out the posts but feel free to find them yourself. One I remember was after Chelsea where he didn't contribute a goal or an assist but played fantastic. It didn't pad his stats in any way but overall gameplay was brilliant. Now you are just attacking me when I'm not even talking about him. Bully. I do rate him, i find him frustrating and see his flaws unlike deluded blues and I don't think he is great for England. He has had a great season and if he keeps improving as he has we will have some player on our hands. The End.

The chip is with our fans crying that the media expect them to perform well. You've replied to zero points made so save us both time and don't reply.

I think it depends on the individual player. For example I probably will cheer if Radford scores for England. I will also cheer if a Tunisian player takes lingard out at bollocks height

Bully lol,you should expect a comeback for your posts, you love laughing at blues opinions so don't be surprised if people laugh at yours

Look Tom you have failed to address any of the points that I countered your arguments with as was pointed out in this thread you would

You keep harping on about the same points but failing to understand the major differences with how the medias treated the players like Rooney and Sterling. Do you not remember the pray for Rooney escapade when he was injured. He was Englands best player at the time. However ehenever he had the ball the commentators would scream "Rooooney" and he was completely blameless when England failed. I cannot remember Rooney ever being criticised in the media for his England performances not matter how bad he was. Indeed after the Iceland game despite only playing 60 minutes it was Sterling who got all the flak not Rooney

What I am pointing out is that the media have already decided who will cop it, no matter how well or badly they play as individuals, should England fail in this tournament it will be Stones and Sterling in the firing line.

That kind of delusion and being blinkered is what I am referring to. Rooney after a few tournaments got stick. Sterling didn't after Iceland, if anything they blew smoke up his arse for "winning" a penalty because there was an outcry over him getting too much shit from previous games and rightly so. To put Stones in the same category is just plain stupid and it is the "anti city" everyone is against us attitude that the rest of the country laughs at. Lets stop being so precious, lets have expectations of our fantastic players and lets stop crying like babies over the slightest thing.

You are, you have singled me out and attacked me over something not even being discussed.

I get the feeling that Tom just enjoys winding people up on this subject. He loves to end his posts with a little snippet that will get a few more replies. Perfect example is 'if he keeps improving as he has we will have some player on our hands.' Funny, he says he rates Sterling for City yet ends with a comment like that knowing it will just stoke the flames. Now he's saying Sterling didnt get stick after the Iceland game. The same sterling who got absolutely ripped to pieces straight after for having a fancy sink in his house.
