One of the best known sporting pictures of all time, loads of awards was Vinnie Jones grabbing Gazza by the balls. Was that representative of the game? I don't know, I can't remember but I remember that picture. It's an interesting picture but not one that's representative of the game. Is strange if it was used as the main picture.
I don't read scumbag press, which I presume were reporting what you have said, so I will take your word for it. So, genuine question, why Sterling and not other black players?
I got into this discussion with you because I believe a very good picture is just that and was not printed because the editor is racist. I don't know the ed. and I presume you don't either so it is just my opinion.
See above.I've no idea why, I've seen it suggested that it's because of his cultural background, like I say though, I don't know.
I believe it's a good pic too but it's not representative of the game so shouldn't have been used in the way it was, that's my issue.
Was it the main photo used in the match report? One of the best known sporting pictures of all time, loads of awards was Vinnie Jones grabbing Gazza by the balls. Was that representative of the game? I don't know, I can't remember but I remember that picture.
Like I have said I don't remember but if it was the best picture of the match then why not use it.Was it the main photo used in the match report?
See above.
If it was me I'd use the photo that best sums up the match, and supports the match report.Like I have said I don't remember but if it was the best picture of the match then why not use it.
100% agree.I don't think this particular instance is racist - it's just a great pic. But the overall narrative of "young black man, with single mum, from the wrong side of the tracks, a bit flashy, a bit gangsta", is DEFINITELY racist. And I speak as a member of the scumbag press. :-)
