We had a bloody good try and were seconds away from succeeding when we should have won that title at a canter. Made for great theatre but terrible hypertension.

City remain an underachieving club and until we prove otherwise, many people, including our own supporters, will have the prevailing view that typical City are never far from a cock-up. One of Guardiola's jobs is to change the mentality of the club and have us deliver the levels of success that we should. Every team cocks-up but, in future, those things needs to be blips in City's case and not par for the course.

Spot on. City NEVER win anything easily.

I think Marvin does have a point. Personally I want everything - to win with beautiful football. That's why this is such a wonderful period for us.
But I remember Brazil in 1982 which had stayed with me ever since. That was a breathtaking team who would have shaped football for years but one loose pass across the back line by Cerezo, Paolo Rossi buries it and goodbye the dream.
I don't think he is saying stop what Pep is doing but just that in a one off cup game we might occasionally have to be careful. In fact we saw it last 5-10 mins at the Etihad v Napoli where we shut up shop to some degree.
We were tremendous last night but even we needed a little bit of luck in not being 2 down during that first 30 mins and also them losing the left back. These margins can be very important.
There's more to come from this team and I don't want it to ever end

Sadly its in our DNA to be a bit pessimistic.

I do not think Pep will change his philosophy but I would not be surprised to see a more pragmatic front three with either a return to a 3-5-2 or losing a striker and playing a Silva as a deep-lying striker to help dictate the game more and control the midfield. Be interesting to see against the top sides
Mate, I am a pessimist, but I'll stay at that point, rather than be a manic depressive like Marvin is.

What other chance did they have in the first 30 mins that could have been a goal?

Seriously I cannot remember one. Correct me if wrong.

Saw that.

Gundogan only got a 6 because he didn't produce in the final third. Except for the superb cross for the equaliser of course.

Sane got a 5 because he didn't see enough of the ball. Saw enough to register 2 assists though.
