Liew claims in that article that, "City know that they’ll never be as big as United or as loved as Liverpool or as cool as Paris Saint-Germain."

How does Liew think Liverpool and Man Utd built their clubs if it was not through decades of winning trophies? Wasn't it just last week that City's Reports and Accounts showed that we had surpassed Man Utd in terms of revenue generation?

He regurgitates the "this means more" claim of Liverpool fans when he claims Liverpool are more adored. Liverpool fans are no better, or fanatical than any other football fan, in fact they are probably worse because they are fed this drivel on a daily basis.

I'd have thought that after a decade of being terrorised by City the smugness of the media supporters of Liverpool and Man Utd would be starting to wane but apparently not. I don't think that readers of the New Statesman which is a house journal of the pro-Capital 'Labour' party (what a misnomer that is) will be entirely comfortable with this elitist nonsense. Many of them would instinctively identify with the rebel and that certainly isn't Liverpool or Man Utd. Football is big business now. There is no such thing as a proletarian football club but such a defence of the hegemony of Liverpool and Manchester United in the footballing world seems rather misplaced. Manchester United's influence in the modern game is fading whilst Liverpool seem to be at the end of their current team's resurgence and return to prominence they have won relatively little.

He's right. Manchester City are deeply unpopular in the world he inhabits but it is the media cesspit that should be held to account and not Manchester City which sustains much of their parasitic existence.

Worth also pointing out that most in his profession have worked tirelessly over the last decade or so, to try and prevent the first 2 things from happening

Don’t have to go on Twitter or Youtube for weird shouts to sell KDB, just go on the matchday thread. There are a few ‘City’ fans on there every game telling us he is finished in every game and one fùcking absolute loon/weirdo proposed a straight swap for Ward-Prowse in the last game!?!

So no need to diversify for your weekly quota of loons, Bluemoon has its very own, appearing in every single fùcking match day thread.

90% of them ain’t city fans! There are loads of none city fans posting on here in sheeps clothing.

Exactly. Yet they are so modest in not claiming their success in manipulating the minds of morons.
Because they know it is a shitty way to earn a living, waging a propaganda war against City for no good reason.

Wouldn't be so sure about the no good reason for some of them, I think some have definitely been paid by certain clubs to spout their shte.

Hard to imagine a club as uncool as PSG, a collection of mercenaries who barely pretend to operate as a team. Anybody with the slightest knowledge of football reading Liew’s article will just laugh with derision at it. And Liverpool? Loved? By all the fans of clubs denied the opportunity of European competition for all those years? By the good folk of Turin and Brussels? Nice work, Jonathan

It's all they have left. They have lost all the major trophies, best manager, best players, - even the biggest tunover. They are claiming something you can't measure, therefore you can't really loose it.

For a fan to act like this is expected. Journalism should be objective. We have come so far from that, I barely remember it.

Oh l know that - l meant a honest, genuine or legitimate reason.
Using dirty tricks might be OK in business and these tricks do not belong in sport. The media get more agitated about an alleged tactical foul by Ferdy than the variety of dishonest stuff from the redshirts and their sycophantic media sheep.
