Do they think Newcastle were just going to blindly get a sponsor that pays 1000% market value. How dumb to these people think the new Newcastle ownership is?
When the Mail were running the same story the other day with an unmoderated forum I couldn’t get one sentence in about Standard Chartered or Western Union.

That would be the same Amnesty International that has been accused by its own staff of bullying sexism, reducing staff to tears etc etc. Right.
And they are going to speak to the Premier League who have 20 teams, all with 25 man squads but not one single player dare come out as gay. Right.
Or the same Amnesty International that pays its CEO £210,000 a year and paid £800,000 hush money to the family of one its workers who killed himself at work after being badly treated by his bosses.

The problem with so many of these so-called human rights groups is that they are all part of the same gravy train as the people they criticise. Hypocrisy stinks doesn't it.

No doubt many of them ride around in cars fuelled by Saudi oil. Sorry filthy oil.

So many of these "not for profit" organisations in the Third Sector pay staggering salaries to their managers and have plush offices in expensive parts of London. I am sure many people who work for them have genuine motives but the lobbying business is very lucrative and very murky. That's one reason why I always go out of my way to support local charities instead of the wealthy corporate ones.

Nice hatchet job on kaky and the development squad in the mirror today. They seem to be getting more snide as things go from bad to worse for the rags.

keep an eye on this:

Amnesty International to hold talks with the Premier League about the fit and proper owners test.

An Amnesty spokesperson said “The current rules concerning who owns and runs English football clubs are woefully inadequate, with no bar on ownership for those complicit in acts of torture, slavery, human trafficking or even war crimes."

Obviously they have a world view that accords with the Guardian, the British Foreign Office where Britain is regarded as a civilising power and the home of democracy and liberty. Many people speak in the name of liberty. It means nothing.

Good job City are owned by Sheikh Mansour and not the UAE or I could envisage problems with this going forwards.
It’s a bit weird to imply that Amnesty criticising Saudi Arabia is an example of British imperialism when Britain is one of the states that most enthusiastically backs and arms Saudi Arabia. Amnesty also criticise Britain on various issues, so they’re hardly holding the UK up as perfect either. See their latest report for example: https://www.amnesty.org/en/location/europe-and-central-asia/united-kingdom/report-united-kingdom/

Great idea. We should extend it to owners whose teams blatantly cheat in other sports, hack databases, load their clubs with debt and hide their accounts in tax havens (which are certainly on Amnesty's radar - https://www.amnesty.org/en/latest/n...s-time-for-action-on-grand-scale-tax-abuse-2/)

Watched the fat Geordies chin wag tonight. Was supposed to be about the PL Chairmans meeting, excluding Newcastles Amanda Stavely and the decision to temporarily suspend Related Part Sponsorships. If anyone thinks the negative press has no effect on perception just have a listen to the silly cunts spouting about us on there. No CIty representation tonight from Buvey so it gave the Scouse supporting wanker free reign to vent his spleen and he went for it - "State owned", "Etihad deal should be banned", "CAS verdict said we systematically failed to co-operate" - so that therefore implies were guilty as fuck in his eyes despite the actual verdict. The wanker has obviously never read it or understands what it actually says. Apparently were still spending Abu Dhabi money like its water/oil (take your pick). Apparently we only voted to abstain because we knew it didnt make any difference to the final decision anyway. (Yes despite it being well reported in the press that our lawyers indicated the proposal was illegal)

That little tramp Chelsea fanboy Rory Jennings who was more pissed and tousled every time he spoke on camera couldn't help himself supporting the Scouse freak either. Yes a fucking Chelsea fan gobshiteing about spending money.

They literally have no fucking clue about our operation. If you were to tell them only 15% of our revenue comes from AD sources (yes fat boy including the Etihad deal) and we haven't spent any of our owners money for 5 years+ despite it being clear in our annual financial reports, they would deny it was true. They are literally kidding themselves.
The Scouser failed to mention Scousepool failing FFP twice or the scandalous reason they were given a 50 million Get out of jail free card or that their Sponsors are criminals and had been found guilty of laundering swathes of Cash from criminal operations. The only good thing about the whole show was McKola literally said fuck all which is unusual for the Rag big mouth. (I wonder why?)

If Buvey does in fact read this forum you can tell that pair of cunts from me to go fuck themselves - they know nothing and delude themselves with Twitter quotes from Morons who know even less. At least do some proper research and find out what is and isnt a related party in so far as sponsorship deals are concerned. Im not an accountant but I know thats where the standards detailing related parties actually come from. Another day another shower of wankers talking bullshit. C'est la vie.
Bunch of budding Simon Jordan’s, talk a lot but absolutely no substance or knowledge of their arguments, subjective in the extreme. Set of class one, clueless, useless twats.

The whole thing is a house built on hypocrisy by people with selective memories to suit their own agendas. Or a large housing estate there's so much of it about.

The Amnesty thing is a fig leaf for the Prem.

Amnesty say so, so it must be true.

McGeehan will be front and centre, all over the media once it’s announced.

I think it's becoming obvious that the cabal is not happy another rich ownership has joined the party likely to threaten the gravy train even further in time.

It seems from the interim stoppage on Related Party Sponsorship, they want to attack potential revenue streams in the first instance. From our owners response it seems that any banning or cessation of such is illegal, so they will have to come up with a restriction that doesn't affect them in any way. I imagine they will look at "amount" restriction for RPs based on % of turnover or other factor rather than an abstract "fair value".

They would obviously love to re-categorise what a related party is but again they have to make sure it doesn't affect them. They are doubly hampered by the fact it's currently recognised by IAS24 worldwide as an appropriate accounting standard to establish RPs. Good luck with that one.

The Amnesty angle is peculiar as the Newcastle horse has already bolted. Unless this is merely to ensure no further entries by adjusting "fit and proper" rules as applying it retrospectively once changed seems impossible.
Having checked the relative status of UAE and the USA on human rights violations including abduction, murder, violence and discrimination towards its own and foreign citizens. The scale runs from -3 to +3 with UK scoring 2.2. Guess who scores 0.22 and who scores 0.23. They of course would put appropriate provisions to exclude our red friends but I put nothing past these bent bastards.
