Very true and I’m very much aware of what Bluemoon can be like. That’s why I say it’s difficult. I feel like I have to be on LinkedIn for work, that’s another swamp. YouTube counts as social media I guess. But that’s it for me and it’s sometimes too much.Could just as easily refer to Bluemoon.
This place is just the same as any other online platform. Anonymity gives dickheads the confidence to say things they wouldn’t dream of saying in real life.
Take all online interactions with a pinch of salt be it of a friendly or “attack pack” (nice phrase) nature. None of it is real.
I sometimes long for the days when I grew up in the 80’s. You had to converse with someone to find out they were a dickhead. The birth of the internet and social media has given every dickhead a platform. Worse still, they think their opinion matters. At least I don’t labour under that illusion.
The day might come when your opinion does matter. Similar to China where your social media “opinion” contributes to your ability to travel or buy food. Hopefully I’ll be long dead by then. I would say I pity my daughter, but as she’s an active member of Momentum she’ll be monitoring your opinions and scoring them.
