Was there crying yesterday about var and the rules of the game when the rags were awarded a penalty after a game had ended? Was there fuck, I don’t remember BT sports talking about VAR reform when a Spurs player handled the ball in the net in a champions league game against us? They can’t hide their bias anymore, they were desperate for us to lose yesterday. I expect the same narrative when we play Chelsea on their shit stain of a channel.

I played in my School Team (Hartshead) one of the last game’s of the 73/74 season, last minute against Blessed Phillip Howard in Glossop, 1-0 down I bladdered it over the bar from the six yard line, cost us the league, I’m reminded about it 47 years later, I piss on 44 years :-).

I think the problem with VAR at the moment is that the people who are making the decisions are not the referees. If the ref was asked to review the Arsenal penalty would definitely have been given ( that's why the media are saying he should of been asked to go to the pitch side monitor). What should happen is if the referee is not sure of a decision it should be his decision to review. At the moment everybody knows as soon as the VAR people ask the referee the review the decision is going to be changed. VAR should only be an additional aid to give the referee a chance to have another look at something he think he may have missed and not someone in his ear reffing the game.

Ronaldo going down like a bag of spuds with a hand on his shoulder a couple of weeks ago and Salah always manufacturing penalties are always met with “he’s entitled to go down”, clear penalty yesterday, shirt pull makes it 100%. I think Micah gave one away at Everton on the edge of the box a few years ago, no one, media or our fans complained, just stupid to do so.

I've never heard any media outlet say salah has dived for a penalty, not once and hes gave them plenty of opportunities to say so.
Didn't salah get a slight pull against us but dived the opposite way yet it was given?
Bernardo got pulled down and his reaction was normal to the motion of getting pulled forwards.
Ridiculous but not a shock how the media are skriking about us and VAR, I bet if the shoe was on the other foot we'd all be told to get on with it.

But isn't that exactly what happened yesterday? Atwell believed Ederson put the ball out fairly for a corner, VAR will have known that whilst they were reviewing it, having reviewed it they decided that there was nothing 'clear and obvious' to suggest Atwell reviewed it on the monitor. With the Silva incident, VAR will have established that Atwell didn't see the shirt pull in addition to the contact with Xhaka's leg. On that basis they've suggested Atwell go and review it on the monitor which he did, saw the extent of the foul and awarded the penalty. VAR only sends the ref to review incidents they know he's missed, they have the benefit of replays and so it's logical that most reviewed decisions will be changed.
