I bet he doesn't remember that.I recall Fabregas going down in the area with a high pitched shriek you could clearly hear from East level 3. He got the penalty.

I agree because it does my tits in too. However, in this instance it was clearly an American depiction of an American. That’s fair comment, but I reserve the right to push back against the seemingly relentless Americanisation of our native spelling, especially on this board.
I look forward to seeing all Salah's penalty dives being relentlessly dissected in future. It was a foul, he's snidely pulling his shirt on the refs blindside then as Bernardo turns it's visible so he lets go and he falls. If he stays on his feet as our players have done in the past the ref waves play on.
I agree, but it still sucks.I agree because it does my tits in too. However, in this instance it was clearly an American depiction of an American.
Period :D)
"...after Granit Xhaka clumsily brought down Bernardo Silva"Where has Fabregas been hiding for x amount of years?

That is the exact rhetoric they would have used, the kind of game champions somehow win.If the rags or the never guilty had won like we did yesterday you wouldn't have hardly heard a peep. It would have been "That's what champions do" and "Ruthless Man Utd/Liverpool grind out the sort of result that wins you titles."

I played in my School Team (Hartshead) one of the last game’s of the 73/74 season, last minute against Blessed Phillip Howard in Glossop, 1-0 down I bladdered it over the bar from the six yard line, cost us the league, I’m reminded about it 47 years later, I piss on 44 years :-).Fucking hell mate there’s nothing like storing something up for 44 years!
Bit like a basic and judo throw - grabbing an opponents shirt and using your hip and thigh and his motion to put him down?It was a foul, he's snidely pulling his shirt on the refs blindside then as Bernardo turns it's visible so he lets go and he falls. I still wonder how Salah manages to fall backwards in similar situations- with never a critical word from the media.
Ronaldo going down like a bag of spuds with a hand on his shoulder a couple of weeks ago and Salah always manufacturing penalties are always met with “he’s entitled to go down”, clear penalty yesterday, shirt pull makes it 100%. I think Micah gave one away at Everton on the edge of the box a few years ago, no one, media or our fans complained, just stupid to do so.If the rags or the never guilty had won like we did yesterday you wouldn't have hardly heard a peep. It would have been "That's what champions do" and "Ruthless Man Utd/Liverpool grind out the sort of result that wins you titles."
I know it's Paul Merson but even by his standards it's shocking. Talking about Pep and the champions league in his column today he comes out with this blinder.
"Pep hasn’t won it. Even with Barcelona when in Lionel Messi he had the best player on the planet by a million miles. They were head and shoulders above everyone."
Unbelievable Jeff.
But isn't that exactly what happened yesterday? Atwell believed Ederson put the ball out fairly for a corner, VAR will have known that whilst they were reviewing it, having reviewed it they decided that there was nothing 'clear and obvious' to suggest Atwell reviewed it on the monitor. With the Silva incident, VAR will have established that Atwell didn't see the shirt pull in addition to the contact with Xhaka's leg. On that basis they've suggested Atwell go and review it on the monitor which he did, saw the extent of the foul and awarded the penalty. VAR only sends the ref to review incidents they know he's missed, they have the benefit of replays and so it's logical that most reviewed decisions will be changed.I think the problem with VAR at the moment is that the people who are making the decisions are not the referees. If the ref was asked to review the Arsenal penalty would definitely have been given ( that's why the media are saying he should of been asked to go to the pitch side monitor). What should happen is if the referee is not sure of a decision it should be his decision to review. At the moment everybody knows as soon as the VAR people ask the referee the review the decision is going to be changed. VAR should only be an additional aid to give the referee a chance to have another look at something he think he may have missed and not someone in his ear reffing the game.
Those with an agenda exposed themselves for all to see. This plant pot is just another exampleJust heard that semi pro legend gabby agbonlohor saying the ref was card happy trying to set a record for most cards and favoured city
Cluelessness
Arsenal 3 yellows Saka (should have actually had two more), Xhaka, Gabriel
1 red Gabriel - nailed on
City 2 yellows rodri and Bernardo - both correct and worth it
Amazing how they ‘think’ something when clearly wrong
