What's annoyed me about the media whingeing about the penalty incidents is the lack of understanding of how VAR is supposed to work. It's supposed to draw the referee's attention to a "clear and obvious error".

For the Ederson/Odergaard incident, the replays were very inconclusive and therefore it wasn't a "clear and obvious error". Had Attwell given it as a penalty, it most likely wouldn't have been overturned, as (again) it wasn't a "clear and obvious error". None of the twats appear to understand this, making them either totally thick or totally biased.

Bernardo, on the other hand, was clearly caught by Xhaka. In the ground, we all saw that and were astounded it hadn't been given. I didn't see the shirt pull at all but that was completely irrelevant. What is relevant was that Bernie was tripped and the ref missed that, which was a "clear and obvious error".

Walton of all people was pretty clear on this, but Ferdinand/Humphrey were too keen on shouting that they were right and not listening.
As we don't know what Atwell saw for Bernardo/Xhaka, it's presumed he missed either the leg trip or the tug. Having told Gillett on VAR this, it's easy enough to see that VAR says "go and have a look".

The questions really ought to be about the linesman not seeing/flagging and why he didn't, and also why so many incidents are not referred.
If BT et al focussed on that, there would be a lot of pressure on Riley to explain what happens.

I think they did understand that on MOTD. But most pundits dont. The clear and obvious error wording is the VAR get out of jail card which is often used to defend poor Ref decisions, in this case however it was used entirely correctly.
I think they do understand the rules, but choose to ignore them when a decision goes in our favour.

It's a lying machine just to appease their deluded fan base. The narrative continuous unbaited.

Stan Collymore.

Manchester City’s squad depth and finances have certainly provided them a big advantage in the title race, as injuries and COVID cases have plagued Liverpool and the rest of the Premier League.

The 50-year-old said: “I have to give Manchester City credit… in these COVID times – whereby you could lose three players, five players, six players – they’re just well covered.”

Spot on and the elephant in the room,

Fans and Hacks always assume awarding of a Penalty is automatically a goal, it isn't. About a quarter or more are missed.

Secondly, a Pen and subsequent goal after 10 minutes would've put Arse 1 nil up.
They want 1 nil up in the first half anyway.
The decisions (and most Pundits and reporters have said the decisions were right) hardly affected the final outcome and how the game played out

Arse shit the bed against a knackered City and they just can't accept it.

What channel is that clown on so I make sure that I don't accidentally tune in to it.

Ha ha, fuck all research done by the dogging prick about our squad size. We're that well covered that we've had four academy lads on the bench for the last couple of matches. Just suits his City hating narrative that pile of shit.

Still seething after Pep's classic " Stanley who"

Manchester United's hopes of signing England midfielder Declan Rice from West Ham is said to have been boosted by the London club's recent form, as they have slipped outside the Champions League qualification spots. The Sun.

Anyone else spot the sheer arrogance and stupidity in the above.YCNMIU

Warnock and that Sue lady very fair on Sky Sports News.

Said the Ederson challenge wasn’t clear and obvious but if they were forced to choose they’d give penalty, but cannot give it using VAR.

Said ours was a clear penalty, no doubts.

Warnock even said Mane should have gone.

BT Sport have destroyed themselves. They had the chance to be at least as good as Sky and maybe even better, but they decided to go with inarticulate pundits like Owen & Ferdinand, who deliver no insight at all. And instead of realising this, they doubled down and decided to become the TV version of Talksport.

I suspect subscriber numbers have fallen, and hence advertising revenue, as people cancel and go to IPTV and streaming. Hence they've been looking to sell for a while. Well, good riddance to the shit-stirring cunts.

I watched a game on NBC and they had Robbie Mustoe & Tim Howard in the studio. Two articulate and insightful pundits who don't create controversy for the sake of it. Robbie Earle & Graeme Le Saux are also great. It's a pleasure to watch and listen to and I hope whoever takes their coverage (DAZN & Discovery are fighting it out) learns the lessons and doesn't just repeat the same shit formula.

Just for the avoidance of any doubt, arrogance is an understatement! Gits

I noticed earlier when they were reviewing the Leeds game that they highlighted the Burnley player getting hit by a bottle. Has there been any reference to the tarquins bombarding our lads?

*Edit: mentioned it but it was Rodri's fault ;-)
