Think you can go further back than that, Liverpools 86 cup final team had no English players.
If you go back to 1967-68, City fielded an all-English team in their winning League campaign for 38 matches out of 42. The only exceptions were four appearances by Bobby Kennedy towards the end of the season.

That will never be repeated.

True and good point but only if we don't count Mark Lawrenson the Lancashire lad who played for Ireland ! PS I remember as far back as the early 80s when Liverpool and the raggos regularly had no more than 2 or 3 English men in the side when we would have 8 or 9 and 4 or 5 of them were Mancs Funnily enough the press never mentioned it in those days !
Because they were proper sports journos back then. The majority today are fully out of the closet fanboys that’s would ignore anything pre 92 anyway and believe football started with the first sky Super Sunday.

Terry Butcher, John Barnes, Raheem Sterling, Owen Hargreaves, most of the ‘England’ cricket team of the last 30 years and half of ‘Team GB’ at the last half dozen Olympics…
The slight difference is that most of the non English born England players did at least live in the country for many years before representing them !

And the Cup winning team of 69 was all Englishmen. Including the sub and manager. No history!

Plus English manager and coach.

The c*nts can't write a positive headline about City without having a sly dig. It's a continual war of attrition against City.

What has Ferguson and the noisy neighbours got to do with the article?

Charlie Walker - the Daily United.

I think it is useful to help remind people how wrong Fergie was. "Not in my lifetime". Well, now he can add City being financially more successful than United, as well as being better than them on the pitch.

Happy 80th birthday btw Fergie! Read it and weep.

DM carrying out their time honoured commitment of feeding the rag lemmings - even though it's not relative to their success for football reasons.
