Why the ruthlessly brilliant, widely unpopular Man City deserve our respect
Pep Guardiola has created a team that defends in swarms, manipulates space and restricts their opponents options – yet the side’s success is often derided.www.newstatesman.com
Good decision.Financial might provided by the Abu Dhabi sovereign wealth fund? Stopped reading at that point.
In my day, we had to content ourselves with Muffin the Mule.. until it was made an illegal offence, of course.. (!!)
Shame. You missed the bit that said our success was due to "weak regulation, a lack of oversight, the moral desertion that allows repressive states to own cherished community assets".Financial might provided by the Abu Dhabi sovereign wealth fund? Stopped reading at that point.
Pissed me right off reading that article so I found this https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...itys-restored-aura-makes-patsies-of-opponentsGood decision.
"City’s financial dominance, buttressed not by an absent billionaire but by an entire state, "
"City know that they’ll never be as big as United or as loved as Liverpool or as cool as Paris Saint-Germain."
"at some point the City era will come to an end. And yet the forces that helped them to flourish in the first place – weak regulation, a lack of oversight, the moral desertion that allows repressive states to own cherished community assets – will not."
Edit: Written by Jonathan Liew, the Spurs fan BTW.
The forces that helped us flourish were what the cartel put in place in order to try and guarantee themselves perpetual success. This always gets overlooked when these nonces bemoan our present standing in the game - and try and evaluate how it came to pass.Good decision.

7 up is still legal, the excitement of growing and getting bigger ;-)In my day, we had to content ourselves with Muffin the Mule.. until it was made an illegal offence, of course.. (!!)
As it finished last season. I hope we can repeat the triple titles. Wonder if it will get any coverage? Very sparse coverage for last season’s achievementSo City top of the Premier League, and Premier League 2, and off the top of the U-18 by goals alone.
You wont find any discussion of that.
Plenty of lies in this article. We are still not funded by a Sovereign Wealth Fund or owned by a state no matter how many times Guardian journalists repeat the trope without a shred of evidence. I wonder what the Chinese and US investors who own 25 per cent of our club think about these constant malicious comments. It must be news to the people at Silverlake as they continue to develop Europe's biggest indoor arena alongside our stadium.Just in case it has 't been posted?

An all-out attack of the usual Guardian tripes and cliches, hidden in the guise of gushing praise. The journalistic equivalent of a wolf in sheep’s clothing and a perfect example of the ‘shit sandwich’ I wrote about a few pages backClearly written to appeal to the ignorant fuckwit hoardes who " follow" the rags, dippers and other yank owned clubs.

He was creepy, and he was supposed to be Jeff Tracey's friend...... I never trusted him!Kyrano..... Kyrano.....Kyrano!
Ah, so Liew is still around is he?Good decision.

I tried Roadrunner, Foghorn Leghorn and even Dick Dastardly with the grandkids…believe it or not the one they loved best was Scooby Doo on YouTube…Roobarb and Custard my favourite trying to get my great nieces to watch it instead of Peppa Pig. Also makeing sure they grow up blue like grandma not red like grandad.
