Lee going after Rabin today.

He deleted this and the earlier version of it. City fans aren't all militant but, but, but look at Rabin.

Another example of why it's OK for journalists to deploy whataboutery.

Is it just me, or are these Twitter journos (by which I mean journalists who put themselves in the Twitter firing line and then don't like being shot at) actually losing their collective minds recently? This isn't the first one who seems to be having some sort of crisis in the last few weeks.

He's not wrong here though?

Lee didn't call City fans militant. He said it was a common view online and he said this while asking for opinions to apparently counter that claim.

Whether you think the question was in good faith, there's a clear difference and Rabin's claim is false.

You can't get all upset about "the media" not being accurate and then smear the truth for your own ends.
Lee directly used the term "militant cranks" to refer to some City fans. He then changed his tune to "they are seen as..."

Go back to page 1448. But it's the oldest trick in the book to make assertions without backing them up. He talks to the likes of Delaney and Harris, who probably fed him that line.

"There's loads on here that think domalino an argumentative, aggressive twat". See how easy it is.

I really like Sam Lee. I was dubious about him being a United fan at the beginning but he definitely won me round with his content. I think this is either the United fan coming through or he’s being pushed by The Athletic to take this new stance. It pretty much isolates him from City fans and almost makes his position as City corespondent untenable.

Maybe he’s angling for a different job.

To your point, whenever I read your posts I am struck by how considered and cogent they are in comparison to much of what passes for journalism these days. I also think most of them would struggle to use 'perspicacity' in it's correct context too!
I agree, it gives me sweaty armpits just reading it too cos it's so good

Don't personally get why people are bothered about whether or not Chelsea's owners are being criticised right now. Invasion going on. People getting drafted, families being torn apart. This feels like a fairly small aspect of it all.

He posted a bizarre questionnaire (if you can even call it that) asking City fans how they view our club. He was then called out by a City fan as to why this was positioned only to City fans and not asking other supporters about their teams, Lee was dismissive in his reply. When you see what is going on with Abramovich, surely such a question would be more relevant for Chelsea fans...

Was his reply "because I'm a City correspondent and don't have anything to do with other teams?". Because I reckon that's fair enough.

To be fair so does posting on a City forum (and pretty much anything else in the world), but here we are

I see Sky Sports have gone Full Tonto on the Carabao Cup Final. It is now the greatest tournament in the world given that City aren't in the Final for once.

All morning wall to wall coverage from the Wembley dugouts, ref profiles, archive footage of great Redness from the past, a bit of Blue Kings Road glory, they've got the lot. On a par with the old-style build up for the FA Cup final in the 1970s. All that's missing is Carabao It's a Knock Out and Carabao Universally Challenged with Kaveh and Darmesh.
