Fair comment. One thing you have to give Liverpool is their resilience. They are a team that always comes back off he ropes. It happens too often to be dismissed as luck. After the first 20 minutes today they looked leggy but they kept going for 120 minutes. Chelsea should have finished them but Liverpool were mentally stronger.

In the first 15 mins of the second half, Chelsea dominated possession but appeared unwilling or unable to make it count. City are in transition looking for the right players as replacements. We had a small squad this season, lost Mendy and Torres and have been hit with injuries at critical times.

We can have opinions about the tweaking but Pep is the manager for good reason. What has been lacking are matchwinners like Sergio who can score out of nothing. A winning mentality is everything.

I remember the anthem being booed by some City fans in 1981 at both Wembley matches. But the whole country was in uproar that year with riots everywhere etc. It didn’t seem unusual then.

Lukaku gave the worst performance I have ever seen at Wembley for a striker. Baffling decision to play someone who is so overweight and immobile. Tuchel cost Chelsea the game.
