A mate who worked there as a callow trainee was given the job of reviewing some hardcore porn videos on his very first morning. Had to watch them in Livesey’s office as the latter had personally commandeered the only VCR player in the place. Excruciating first day at work!

Incredible sports desk.

I worked in the Cashiers at the Express, I remember most of these. It was funny when the messengers used to fall over each other to take things to the Sports office next to the Crown and Kettle, some of the sights they saw ;)

I have no idea who Neil Jones is but I'm happy to leave him wallowing in his thoughts, far away from reality.

According to the article Haaland isn't even a leading talent in his position. I bet they have to whistle on the crapper just to make sure they wipe the right end.

I wouldn’t say Delaney has academic credentials that surpass the large majority of his paper’s audience. I would say he’d be a below average reader of the Independent, intelligence wise. This is manifest from his inability to understand or appreciate relatively complex issues and his poorly developed critical thinking. It’s all relative, of course, but from where I’m standing, he’s more than a bit thick.

I agree. He's incredibly tiresome.
Intellectually, a scratched record. Yet prone to all sorts of confections, conflations and mental gymnastics - all apparently, in service of his ego (rather than y'know, the truth).
The irony is that in spite of his own self-regard, at best he's only ever proven capable of parroting the last opinion he encountered. To my knowledge, he has never broken any worthwhile story whatsoever let alone, broached an original opinion that wasn't founded on boorishness or gallery-playing.
Simply a very boring man. Not worth reading.
