Quite literally. Freelance rates are often lower than they were in 2000. I was recently offered a short-term contract on a national daily at £110 per day. Fuck that!

I know guys doing matches getting paid £70.

Once they have paid for petrol, they are probably losing money!!

I used to get £300 a game for Screws and then if you doubled up for the Monday, it was a £500 day.

Long gone are those days, eh!

For Martin Samuel fans on here...

He's had enough of Daily Mail.

Watch this space... Next stop The Times for double his dough:)

I estimate that will be closer to £1m a year!!!

Two columns a week - nice work if you can get it!!

Congrats to someone who always gives City a fair sheikh!
Just catching up and saw this. Great stuff. It’s not just his City stuff and his fair stance on the club, but his writing in general that makes him a must-read.

Who the hell is this scrawny arse ‘bin dipper‘ Pimblett? Wants to fight
Bernardo because Bernardo made him cry. He‘s a ******* loser!

Always wondered what that kid Jay from the inbetweeners was doing since the show ended. Now I know.
