"The sheer gulf in class when Mikel Arteta’s side were defeated, was chastening for all romantics who despair at the continuing dominance of Guardiola’s team and would like more variety. It's like having a whole year of autumn - Very beautiful but ultimately depressing.”

From a Liverpool supporter, who presumably was content with her team dominating English football in the 80’s and being the most likely reason why she follows them now.
Oh dear! Oh deary, deary, deary me! WTF! Bwahahahahahahahahahaha! :-)

UK govt can trade with these "nation states" and they can invest heavily in the UK economy, property, pension funds etc and there is very little media attention. Yet so many people writing on sports pages are indignant. I don’t understand
The commercial investments that the UAE make in this country tend to go unnoticed. The business relationship they have with the UK Government doesn't affect the average man in the street.

However, Sheikh Mansour owns MCFC and there lies the problem. The Premier League pyramid was supposed to be a closed shop which the likes of the rags, dippers and tarquins were the main beneficiaries. The broadcasting media knew which side it's bread was buttered because of the same top four teams sharing the financial spoils.

In 2008 when HRH Sheikh Mansour bought us out lock, stock and barrel he cleared our debt and set aside one billion pounds to invest in the infrastructure and the future of our club. This was known as "The Project". A phrase that recieved skepticism and rudicule from the broadcasting media and written press.

The problem was two-fold for the cartel and it's mouthpiece media. Firstly, they didn't take Sheikh Mansour seriously and secondly they took their position in the Premier League for granted.

MCFC have irrevocably broken up the historical top four in this country while the history clubs and their mouthpiece hacks in the media are flailing around desperate to regain a foothold at the top table. The media are trying everything to discredit MCFC achievements because it's easier to blame them and their nasty owners than it is to admit the games up for the old guard.

Khaldoon Mubarak sumed it up beautifully when he said "we won't be held responsible for other clubs poor investments".

The owners of MCFC have done absolutely nothing that any sensible owner of a Premier League club would want to do.
The difference is one of vision. When Sheikh Mansour started this project in 2008 he wanted to own the best football team on the planet. Therefore, by default it was guaranteed to be the best team in England and Europe.

The media can't accept this, so they work tirelessly for their paymasters; spreading fake news, innuendo and propaganda in the hope that this tyrant will sell up and place MCFC in the hands of some incompetent who will run the club into the ground.

A bit like Chelsea and the Rags.

And..”The sheer gulf in class when Mikel Ateta’s side were defeated…was chastening for all romantics who despair at the continuing dominance of Guardiola’s team and would like more variety…it is like having a whole year of autumn - very beautiful but ultimately depressing.” From a Liverpool supporter, who presumably was content with her team dominating English football in the 80’s and being the most likely reason why she follows them now.
Autumn is by far my favourite season.
