Honestly, I don’t get that. The real motivation, of course, is all about winning the treble rather than to protect achievement of other lads 25 years ago. I do not think that likes of Casemiro, Antony, Fernandes are very much concerned with whatever Scholes and Giggs achieved. Yes, they will be motivated to win but all this stuff around importance of not allowing City to win the treble is just inflated by the media

All the press articles niw are about the extra motivation of the current rag players stopping our treble assault - it has nowt to do with the rag players cos they have no affiliation with that squad back in 99

What this is, is the pro rag media shitting bricks and praying we dont do it

And that right there is Peps and our squads motivation to go and do just that

When City won their first double of the PL title and League Cup in 2014 rags derided it as "Not the real double". Of course whenever City won a League Cup they also derided it as a Mickey Mouse competition but it miraculously became a major trophy when they won one. After which it reverted to being Mickey Mouse once more.

What they don't understand is that City fans don't give a flying fuck what
they think. I remember ex brother in law telling me that doing the domestic treble want a real treble. Fucking deluded, althoughhes a good lad for a rag.
 
Just seen Noel on a BBC clip and I was glad he pointed out; yes, we threw money at it in the early days to get where we wanted to be, but since then, in the last 5 years, others have outspent us. It's not as if we are blowing people away in auctions on the world's best players, we've come from behind to win the Premier league a couple of times or won it on the last day so we're not making the league uncompetitive. These points need getting over to the ordinary viewers, rather than the narrative set about money and unfairness set by journalists that plain dislike us. Nice one.
