Interesting article. Totally jaundiced. I wonder what article if any he'd have written if Sheikh Mansour had invested in Aston Villa? That's academic. If he has a beef with big business and global capitalism he should focus on that. Having a go at City with a nostalgic eye is utterly pointless and banal. Global capitalism is here to stay until the next financial crisis at least. He just wants to rain on our parade. What a villain?!

He sounds like “jumpers for goalposts“ - he spends 3 paragraphs reminiscing about the old days like they only applied to Villa. What a bitter jealous twat

Unfortunately City’s owner isn’t right if you know what I mean, completely different reporting if he’s a yank or European, the best way is to keep winning trophies as it eats them up the absolute joy from us tomorrow if we should win the European cup and contrast that with the absolute despair and wailing from the English media ( not all but large sections of it)will be a joy to behold as well,it could honestly be a double celebration tomorrow night please please make it so City ..

No matter what the result is tomorrow, the coverage from the British media will be mostly negative towards City so my advice is don't waste your time and energy reading or listening to it.

Anyone who isn't able to avoid it, just remember that the way our club is reported on in this country does not reflect how the rest of the footballing world sees us.

I have been getting the impression recently that a lot of this hate for City is going over people's heads. People are seeing the football we are playing and how good it is. Lots of people I know, yes even rag supporters are saying that we are playing great football. The MSM are desperately trying their best but even they are seeing what is happening and jumping on board. Dan Roan and his ilk are going to be left behind and treated like Mary Whitehouse and Lord Longford before to long.
Your first sentence is spot on in my experience “in real life”.
Even got liverpool fans at work genuinely say they hope we win it (to stop united going on about the treble), and the odd united fan begrudgingly wishing us on.
They’ve completely misjudged the mood haven’t they?

Anyone seen the managers press preview yet? Haven’t seen Pep look so intense and stressed as this before. He did seem to relax a little as the interview progressed, however he really did appear quite stressed out to me. On a more positive note, Kev, and Ruben totally relaxed and chilled

Pep at the best of times hates the fucking media and would sooner be doing something more positive than to discuss all things shit that they ask.
Stress my arse.

I think it is more a case of they are trying to create the mood and tell people what to think, mate.

They wish us well but will explode with joy should the tallies score.

I saw it,he was fine,i think youre talking rubbish.

Have you seen the interview?
Yes I watch all interviews and this was no different to any of the others.
I think you`re reading/looking at it negatively, when in reality theres nothing to be seen.
He looked and heard so much better when discussing with the Spanish journo than he did with all the rest, even though I didn`t understand any of it.
Nothing to see here. Lets move on and concentrate on the bigger picture for everyone connected with our Club.

He sounds like Villa's version of David Conn.

He doesn't seem to go have noticed that Villa isn't owned by Doug Ellis anymore. In fact, the Villa owners are worth around £10bn between the two of them.

Fuck him and all the other bitter, obsessed cunts in the media. I'm going to watch my team on possibly the most exciting and important day in our entire 129 year history tonight.

And I hope, if we do make history, their fucking heads explode with rage or their internal organs dissolve from all the acid they produce.
