Roma have reportedly told Manchester City the deadline to buy Mehdi Benatia or back off is July 21.

The defender has been training separately from his teammates at the Trigoria ground this week and the Corriere dello Sport claimed he had a tense face-to-face meeting with Coach Rudi Garcia.

The Giallorossi want at least €35m (around £30m) for the 27-year-old Moroccan international.

According to The Guardian, Roma directors are increasingly irritated at the stand-off and have set a deadline for Manchester City.

Either they come in and complete the transfer by July 21 or Benatia acknowledges their interest in him is not serious enough.

Benatia is particularly eager to join Manchester City because his best friend, Samir Nasri, plays there.

Also gazzetta saying benatia "insists he dreams of playing at the etihad".

Looking at Dante the other night Bayern may well be in the market for a CB.

From what I've heard City haven't offered more than €24m, not even tempting for us, Bayern have supposedly offered €33m and it was rejected.

Roma won't budge and Benatia knows that it's not in his interests not playing for one year, that would be very stupid, so if he stays, Garcia is usually very convincing, he'll play great like he always did in his career.

Any fee City have agreed is unofficial, just send the offer if you want him, we will sell but for the right price.

€20m+Shaqiri is rubbish. They receive a world class CB in return for an unwanted player, we could buy notwithstanding, plus some extra cash, very unlikely scenario. I don't even think we're after him.
