Roma want €40m for Benatia
Mehdi Benatia has reportedly decided to leave Roma this summer, but they are seen as only prepared to consider offers around €40m.
Benatia’s form for the Giallorossi last term has seen him heading into the transfer market with apparent interest from the likes of Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Manchester United and Manchester City.
The centre-back and his agent’s comments made over Roma’s ‘disrespectful’ offer a new contract has since heightened that speculation that his future lies away from the capital.
Whilst the trail has gone cold of late, the Gazzetta dello Sport today indicate that the 27-year-old has decided he wants to leave the club during the summer.
However, at the same time, the paper indicate that Roma are only willing to consider his exit should an offer of around the €40m mark comes in.

The Gazzetta article says Benatia would prefer to join Chelsea, but that Nasri is trying to push him towards City. It's a moot point who a player wants to join if the club doesn't bid. We've been told Mangala and Benatia would prefer Chelsea, but they can only sign one of them, and that's assuming they don't have other targets.
Gazzetta says Bayern already had a bid turned down, which could also pose a problem if they go back. Let's hope Nasri is persuasive, he has a way with words.

Maybe but from his own mouth he mentioned Barca, Bayern and us as being dreams to play for or some such but unlike Mangala he has never expressed an opinion preferring Chelsea, it has come from those pesky sources close to the player.

The Agents and hanger ons would prefer Chelsea because they know Chelseas will pay all the extras and backhanders we wont.

Thing about Chelsea, we know they have Terry/Cahill, Zouma is going out on loan again but not back to St. Etienne, Klass went out on loan and they have that other academy graduate. He could go, but Mangala has "actual" quotes mentioning Chelsea, not Benatia. They both can't end up there.
