There is another lad at the same club i would hope City are watching and that is Hakan Calhanoglu. He has had a more than steady couple of years in the Bundesliga and is starting to get in the scoring and assisting bracket. The bonus ball being he can take a set piece,
If we look at where City need some cover or younger players i would suggest the latest of the Valencian left back production line, José Luis Gayá. He has had a very consistent season and is also starting to contribute to the goals. His defending has really picked up the last few months.
Back to Germany and having seen Nastasic twice recently he is doing more than ok, i really have no idea why he was frozen out, there are no footballing reasons he should have been. Even in BVB's demolition of S04 he was far from the most embarrassing out there. Ok he was skinned by Gündogan before he slung a great cross for Mkhitaryan to score but hey, he is young and will recover.
Co-incidently the next player could an opponent of Nastasic's on Saturday, the Hoffenheim centre back Niklas Süle. Not seen him this year, since the winter break, not sure if rested or injured but the lad can play and some of his tackles will make you wince.
Memphis Depay is nailed on if we are to be serious going forward and with him being in the Eredivisie he would certainly be cheaper than the overpriced and overheated Primeira Liga.
Other lads in that league would be Arkadiusz Milik at Ajax or rather on loan from Leverkusen (what is it with them recently?), Daley Sinkgraven at Heerenveen, Terry Kongolo at Feyenoord (lets hope his brother puts in a word) and his defensive partner Sven van Beek.
Two others would be Aymeric Laporte at Athletic Bilbao and Nice's Jordan Amavi.
Clearly not all of them but two or three should set us up for a good while and for not much more than Mangala.
Gaya is also my left back acquisition of choice. You simply cannot match the talent, aggression and age combination he offers.
If you checked my "anti-buying" Mangala thread from the summer, you'd see where I lauded Sule as one of the future top CDs we could have gotten for way cheaper this coming summer and thus shouldn't waste so much on Mangala in a restricted season. Sule is a Man-boy, and his ballskill ( a requirement) for any player I like, is fantastic.
Depay, well yeah I want him. Said it a thousand times. :)
Milik is a bit Harry Kane-ish to me. Don't know if he is having a great season or just a fabulous player developing.
Haven't seen enough of Laporte or Amavi. But I'm particularly intrigued by Amavi's opta stats. He is currently rated the best LB in Europe's major leagues. So I need to pay attention. That said, I doubt I'd prefer him to Gaya. There is something about Gaya I find Enjoyable.
But I like your way of thinking.
I tell you what, Jordan Amavi looks some player, abit in the mold of Clichy, but with a beter cross and passing ability. loves a tackle and is very two footed too. him or Gaya in the summer would make me a very happy boy at left back. As for Depay, I think he could be our Hazard if he develops the way he should do, very direct, good eye for goal, young, hungry !
EDIT - Amavi and Gaya are both streets ahead of Kurwaza from what ive seen. Do you ever get the feeling that if you didn't work 45 hours a week you could do a damn good job of scouting !
I never forget being ill from school and watching the under 16s world cup in which Tevez, Robinho and Dani alves (Called 'Daniel' at the time) played. I wrote a letter (old school I know) to city to say I had watched these players In the latter part of the tournament and how impressed I was by them. I believe the letter was completely ignored as I was only about 13 or 14 myself.
But look where they all ended up, ok Robinho wasn't exactly a word beater but he was a damn good player and Tevez and Dani Alves........ well !

Is there any chance we can all apply for the dof job? Gaya I'd definitely have but I'm sure madrid are after him as well so it will be hard for us to get him, if they're not after him of course he we should be all over him. Depay I'll have, he'll be pretty cheap as well as posted above. The rest I've not really watched them so can't really comment about them. I might as well watch a few videos of themand see what they're like.

PSV technical manager Marcel Brands has confirmed Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain have made attempts to sign Memphis Depay.
Goal reported in March that United are closing in on a deal for the 21-year-old but both Liverpool and Tottenham are also keen on a summer move.
Tottenham and PSG have both had concrete offers for Depay rejected by PSV in the past year, although the Dutch club's hierarchy maintain the Netherlands international is likely to be sold this summer.
“Spurs offered about €20 million last summer. Paris Saint-Germain then tested our resolve in January. But neither PSV nor Memphis were interested in a winter move. We were talking about a lot of money, but decided against a transfer," Brands told Fox Sports.
"There are three big clubs that have approached us over Memphis Depay now, clubs that are concrete. There’s PSG who are still interested, we have received a phone call from Manchester United, although no formal talks have taken place for now.
"It’s up to Memphis to make his decision in the end, though. I have little doubt that we will then be able to agree terms.”
Depay struck a sublime free kick in Saturday’s 4-1 win over Heerenveen, which secured PSV’s first Eredivisie title since 2008.
