Metrolink to / from Etihad

Going to Ashton is fine, it's going towards Picc that's the problem.
I doubt you'll queue for more than 15 minutes at the Etihad stop. You can't get on at the next stop - they bypass it so they can manage the queue better.

Thanks for that.

Train times from Ashburys are rubbish. 22:04 which would mean leaving before the end, and then 23:30

And they wonder why people drive everywhere!

Yep, the public transport in mcr is awful.

For me to get to the game from Urmston using public transport would cost more, be less convenient and take longer than just driving - so I drive.

Just had a text from City to say that a RTC has blocked the Metro Line between Clayton Hall and Velopark and there is a replacement bus service in operation (216).

ALERT: Due to a road traffic collision, there is no metrolink service between Clayton Hall and Velopark. This will impact fans travelling in from Ashton direction. Fans can use tickets to board the 216 and 217 buses.

Trams from Manchester Piccadilly are continuing to run.

So my train into town was cancelled with about 2 mins notice which meant I had to get a lift to a tram stop. The tram I got on ended up being the one that crashed into a car near Velopark! Witnesses say the car went through a red light. We all got thrown around a bit when the tram driver slammed on his brakes, but obviously he couldn’t stop in time. Drivers side of the car took all the impact by the looks of it.

Guess that was still causing issues later on as they announced no trams to Ashton during the second half. I ended up having to leave at 84 mins to get to Ashburys for the train!

Looked a bit of a mess driving past it on the way to the game. Glad to hear nobody was seriously hurt.

I apologize for my advice about getting the tram. It seems like last night was a nightmare!

Glad no-one was seriously hurt.
