Correct - but if you spot a free private hire vehicle you can phone him and legally book it - I think. And if it's private hire it should be booked in advance, or is that no longer the case?

I think you have to phone the taxi firm's office, but I'm not sure the drivers were worried about that.Correct - but if you spot a free private hire vehicle you can phone him and legally book it - I think.
Strangely, traffic to/from the game was the best we have had in years. Don’t know whether it was time of match, opposition, f a cup audience??Salford Quays return tonight.
Great for once.
Coming back the queue was quick, let an Altrincham go by for an Eccles minutes later.
Must have been about only 15 minutes from queue to tram entry.
If only like that all of the time.Seat at Piccadilly as well.
Same crowd as always + i would imagine more Salford .Strangely, traffic to/from the game was the best we have had in years. Don’t know whether it was time of match, opposition, f a cup audience??

Maybe because there were so many families and less single season card holdersStrangely, traffic to/from the game was the best we have had in years. Don’t know whether it was time of match, opposition, f a cup audience??
Kinell, has the penny finally dropped with TfGM/GMP do you think? Posters on here have only been suggesting this for the past decade!Merrill Street was closed off to traffic, so trams just sailed up the road.
The Etihad was full of locals on Saturday, both home ans away fans.Strangely, traffic to/from the game was the best we have had in years. Don’t know whether it was time of match, opposition, f a cup audience??
Said the exact same thing - Fantastic reception for Foden coming on .The Etihad was full of locals on Saturday, both home and away fans.
The Mets were a breeze after the game n’all.
I bet there 10,000 more locals in for that game than there at the recent Manchester derby in December. Maybe more.
There were shit loads of local kids with their Dads sat near me and quite clearly very few of the usual tourists who couldn’t have pointed to the Etihad on a map two decades ago. The kids went wild when Foden came on. You could noticeably hear their local accents.
Loads will have walked to the ground and back home on Saturday. Loads will have walked back to Town and dispersed from there. Loads will have had more than one in cars as they went as a family because they could afford it for once.
It was great to see all those fans of the future. A really nice vibe around the stadium as well. The Etihad was full of locals on Saturday, both home ans away fans.

Those that did drive will have had more than one individual in cars as they went as a family because they could afford it for once, which will have meant fewer cars across the attendance.
I wish that was the sort of crowd that was at the Etihad every game.
And then, for the very next home game, it’s £48-62 FOR CHILDREN!It was great to see all those fans of the future. A really nice vibe around the stadium as well.
Just think what they’d charge if there wasn’t a cost of living crisis and people weren’t so skint……And then, for the very next home game, it’s £48-62 FOR CHILDREN!
All Eccles bound trams will terminate at Media City UK. That's it.The Eccles line is shut for virtually the whole of February. So that is going to change the normal running order for the Madrid, Newcastle and Liverpool games.
Can’t see any reason why it should mean any less trams to and from the ground though, so hopefully it won’t be too bad.
There's a surprise!! The Eccles line seems to need a holiday every 6 weeks.... must want school holidays. The Eccles line is shut for virtually the whole of February. So that is going to change the normal running order for the Madrid, Newcastle and Liverpool games.

I know. Wasn’t it shut for about 6 weeks solid some time last year?
Or am at that age where time goes so quickly, I’m thinking of a time about 10 years ago?
