Metrolink to / from Etihad

Hale is always snarled up with traffic at the scheduled time the bus is due to depart because the level crossing is usually closed for most of the time between 45 minutes past the hour and on the hour, to allow the trains to and from Chester to pass through.

It would make more sense to move the departure time in Hale from 12.48 to 13.05 after all the traffic has disappeared, becsause it just isn't realistic to expect the bus to depart at it's scheduled time, so maybe it is something the traffic planners ought to consider.

On Saturday, we had to wait after the passenger trains had passed through for an additional 5 minutes to allow a freight train to trundle past on it's way from the Chester direction.

The problem in Hale stems from trains coming from Chester. The last signal before Hale is at Ashley station, and the signal there can't turn green until the crossing gates are shut, meaning a 5 minute wait at the level crossing, and 10 minutes before the train from Chester arrives, the train to Chester arrives, hence the delays.

Anyway, as I said, I found it a much more pleasurable experience than travelling on the Metro, and as for my ears, I've had tinnitus for the last couple of decades or so, so yes, they are ringing, and they always will, but I don't hold you responsible for that!

Maybe send the feedback to the club? They are welcoming feedback on how to improve the service. Was it you I was chatting to?

Had to use the replacement bus due to my plans on Sat. It was a lot shitter getting back than going which I expected tbh. Really poor all round but what pissed me off totally was when I got back to Firswood. I encountered an elderly and confused couple who had to get off there but had no idea what to do then. I gave them directions to the bus stop, which was a good 5-600 m away and packed as well. There wasn't a single metrolink twat in sight at the station to assist passengers which was bang out of order.

If you repost this in the match day bus thread there is a TFGM rep on there who seems pretty responsive/receptive to feedback

They have passed the buck to KAM, whilst admitting that nobody should get priority, next stop will be KAM.
I bought a season ticket for the tram...............what a dickhead! I had no idea how shit it is.

City council cunts stopping parking on industrial areas with no public transport fit for service.

The club did a quiz on Saturday mostly about being sustainable and modes of transport whilst they arrive in style on executive coaches or flashy top cars. Fuck the local fans eh.

What are you trying to achieve here exactly? Is it just because you get subsidised travel and somehow think no-one else should be able to get in a different queue to you? I'd be quite happy to stand in the snake queue for a few extra minutes if I could get a full year's worth of tram travel for £10, but I can't as I'm not eligible. You're not eligible to stand in the fast pass queue as you haven't spent £72 on a ticket. So, I'm struggling why it galls you so much that you're trying to make the service even worse for everyone to prove a point.

My point is there should not be a fast queue (according to the Bee Network), so who has authorised it?

There has been a fast track for years. It must have been stopped? I have a season card for the tram but there is no fast track to ashton....or fast trams. ha

Honestly mate, why do you care? If they scrapped the fast track it isn’t going to benefit you, or anybody else in any noticeable way whatsoever.

If the fast track goes, I'll want a refund on my tram season ticket. It's the only thing that make's it workable for me and the only reason I paid a premium for the games I do go to on the tram.

Totally agree. The season ticket has been a complete game changer for me and saves me 40 minutes after each match.
It's a clear choice. Pay your £72 in advance and get the speed and convenience of the fast track entrance, or pay the same in dribs and drabs over the season and join the general queue. This choice is open to everyone who attends regularly and I don't really see how it is discrimatory.
THIS.
Another example is when you go thru security at the airport, you are offered normal security procedures and que or you can pay £10 or whatever the cost is for a fast track way of getting thru. Exactly the same scenario as the fast track on the met.

I wouldn’t worry too much. I highly doubt they’ll be scrapping it on the strength of one whinging letter from a bloke who pays £10 a year to use the whole network amongst other things.

You couldn't make the metrolink service up. After closing Cornbrook all weekend last week it is now closed again due to a points failure impacting numerous lines at peak time.

It will get worse...
I wonder what long-term strategy Burnham has put in place to ensure the Metrolink continues to operate for the next 30 years. I wrote to him last year to ask what plans had been put in place to improve transport around the newly revamped Holt Town development, the expanded Etihad Stadium, and the new arena. The answer was zero. Literally nothing had been put in place (other than reducing publlic parking). When I say nothing I mean not even a taxi rank or an expanded bus service. Burnham talks a good game and delivers very little.

I’ve no particular love for Burnham but have to admit that the buses have improved significantly in my experience, since he brought them under the Bee Network.
