Metrolink..

Fucking cycle lanes going up everywhere for the benefit of the handful of hardy souls prepared to brave the awful English winter weather and cycle to work. Meanwhile traffic jams stretch as far as the eye can see.

Unfit for purpose public transport - overcrowded unreliable and unsafe

Burnham and all these eco cunts don’t realise that what works in San Diego won’t work in Manchester. Give us back our roads you hypocritical wankers.
Don’t even get me started on 100 yard bus lanes that snarl up the traffic in rush hour..

The cycle lane through Stretford from the M60 to Cornbrook is beyond ridiculous.

It's actually why I've knocked CL games on the head, I dread to think of the traffic on Midweek game nights leading up to Chrimbo!

You don't create a Cycle Laneby just dropping a few thousands cones!

California is falling apart due to socialist policies

Falling apart? I thought socialists were all about spending money?
They are. 50% of the tax base is from the top 1% of earners. And they are starting to leave in their droves along with many companies, over 15000 have gone in the last few years.

California also have 35% of the total US Welfare outlay. Doesnt take a genius to work out whats coming.

Yes, I did read recently about the movement of Californians to Texas I must admit.
When I said spending I meant on capital outlay and repair to infrastructure etc - I thought that’s what you meant by ‘falling apart’.

Trafford Council is to consult with residents over the future of the temporary pop-up cycle lanes across the borough.

The lanes on the A56 Chester Road, Bridgewater Way and Edge Lane were installed during lockdown in 2019 to encourage social distancing and promote active travel including walking and cycling.

The Council will now be launching a consultation with residents in the first week of November, 2021, to ask them their views on the cycle lanes.

The consultation is not intended to be a referendum but is intended to gauge viewpoints from the public in identifying new and relevant information to consider when finalising a decision to replace the pop-up cycle lane. The consultation will begin in the week commencing 1 November 2021 for a period of six weeks until 12 December 2021.

Cllr Stephen Adshead, Trafford Council’s Executive Member for Environment, Air Quality and Climate Change, said:

“The temporary cycle lanes were installed during the early lockdown as part of a campaign by the Government and local authorities to promote active travel and social distancing.
“We have now reached a point where more cars are back on the roads and we need to assess how we manage the increased traffic whilst also supporting active travel. We will work very closely with residents on this and give everyone in the area the chance to have their say on the lanes and their future. I would urge as many people as possible to take part in the consultation in the week beginning November 1, 2021.”

All I can glean from this is that you are a car driver and want the road all to yourself. Yet it's a fact that people in traffic jams think it's everyone else's fault.
What San Diego has to do with anything I don't know, but it might be better if you could expand on this - citing the relevant committee report, of course.
