Micah Richards

Hard to believe that I used to think him and Nedum would be our first choice central defenders and probably England's too. Be a shame to see him leave but it would appear to be the right thing for him. Interesting to see how his injury problems pan out somewhere else.

I hope Micah gets through his injuries and I really think we should keep him and give him a chance, we all know how devastating he can be when he's at his best. But imo we should sign another Maicon age profile like right back at the very least in the summer, someone decent coming to the end of their career to take the pressure off Zaba. Zaba has said he wants to end his career here, I don't want that to be when he's 30 cause he's playing 65 games a season for City.

If we have offered him a five year deal that potentially says something about how highly we regard him. If he has refused to sign it is either the first step in mind games or he is being given rather poor advice. It is all ifs and buts at the moment although he has to prove his fitness. Maybe tomorrow he will be given the chance to show whether or not he is firstly fit to play for 90 minutes and secondly whether he can show signs of reaching the level we need him to be at

City have offered him close to £80k a week but Micah left that deal on the table since last summer.

He wanted to see his position in the team and what else might be out there for him.

He also knows he is in a stronger position to lower his asking price, with 12 months remaining on his contract. Oldham also have a 20 per cent sell-on clause.

Believe it has got to the stage where it suits both parties to go separate ways, although Micah will struggle to get that type of money anywhere else, even with 12 months left.

or even on Sunday, Richards needs a performance and so do the club - come on Micah!

It's sentimental with us, not with Txiki though. Micah's getting the axe this summer

Yup, and no surprise really. We won't get fired if we fail to hit targets, we'll be here regardless.

Shame to see him leave if he does, for both sentimental reasons and also playing reasons because if fit he can really push Zaba and could be playing in this team which is getting near to the peak of its powers.

Something you think Micah would want to stick around for and work twice as hard.

Not bothered to be honest, I don't remember the last time he was able to string more than a handful of games together without getting injured again.

80k a week for 5 years - can play 25 games a season shared with zabba. He should bite our hands off.

That would be 20 million wages.

Never underestimate the greed of modern footballers.

While it will be hard to see an academy player go, I think new ones will appear soon (Lopes is likely, Huws is a maybe, and we have endless excellent talents in the academy) to soften the blow.

And Zabaleta is approaching 30 and it's ridiculous the load placed on his shoulders because Micah either is injured or looks poor when playing.

Clyne, Coleman... there are some good 'homegrown' right-back options. Maybe even Trippier, who has 13 assists in the Championship this season and has been linked with Arsenal again. Or we could look abroad again and find plenty of good talents.
