Zabaleta was awful again tonight like much of last season. you must all be blind

This. Unbelievably overrated. Walker, Rafael, even Santon were better than him last season IMO.

Your opinion isn't only wrong, it's idiotic. What a pair of fucking whoppers.

I still believe Zabaleta is the better defender, but he needs to learn to deal with fast tricky wingers such as Ribery.

Micah is better going forward, some of those powerful runs he goes on will will cause even the best of teams problems.

So happy we have the pair of them, perfect competition.

Thank my giddy aunt that someone else thinks that Richards can't defend like me, because imo it's true.

Going forward Richards is miles better, and like others have said I'm glad we have two fantastic players for the same position.

The same can't be said about Kompany's replacement as we don't have one.

How is Richards miles better going forward. If that were the case he would have miles more assists miles more chances created and miles more goals. How else would you judge it. I believe Richards has slightly better stats.

Love Micah, love Zabba, glad it's MP making that decision.

This and there will be games for both, I would give the nod to Micah to start the season as I love the pace he attacks with and watching him throw his face into challenges.

With two such excellent right backs we are true blessed

I agree Richards is better going forward than zaba

Not sure why we need to sign another CB. We,ve got cover in Richards and Boyata and Lescott. More than enough imo. If we buy a CB we will have another situation like Maicon last year. A 100k a week player sat on the bench getting the odd game or few mins in a game. That position could go to a younger player or one of the above. If we sign a player every time as injury cover we'll never bring a young player through again.

Last night most of Bayerns most dangerous attacks in the 1st half were down our right.
Zabba didn't have his greatest game, possibly because he was worried about what Boyata was doing.
Maybe Boyata will improve enough to provide reliable cover.
Doubt it though tbh.

Richards is a great athlete - be it injury prone. His positional sense is questionable at times - which is why Capello didn't rate him. His strength and power get him out of trouble a lot of the time personally I'd pick Zab ahead of him for the big games but Richards will get lots of game time this season.

Richards had the third most assists in the squad and was top 12 in the Prem in our tile winning season.
